India is never gonna get rid of its poverty because if people's basic needs are taken care of, then they would start to question the quality of life that the government is giving them after taking all of their tax money. If you instead keep them in poverty, leaving them dumb, stupid and fighting amongst themselves then no significant bunch of the population will question you about where the tax money is disappearing into.
Fruit is a non-factor in India. India got much larger problems than why the worlds' second-most overrated company does not have physical authorized stores there.

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2023Salary? 300$ i guess, instead of 2000$ in US.Cost of living.. that 2000$ in USA will barely get you through the month just like 300$ in India.

“India had some stringent requirements for foreign companies, which inhibited Apple.”

Really? A trillion dollar company is inhibited? Samsung and the Chinese can do it, yet Apple cannot? This more shows how cheapskate Apple is while being the most expensive brand.

ae86, 09 Jan 2023imagine if the indian government manage to lift the majorit... moreThey are on the way to doing it. Since last eight years per-capita income of indians has risen very fast. Things like these take time. Lifting 1.4 billion people out of poverty is not easy. Esp when the country doesn't have a global manufacturing base like China.

This is also why the indian government is trying to attract global manufacturing. Many factories are coming to india too now.

Apple's CEO Tim Cook must do something to make it possible these iPhones so affordable for every one like Android phones are in the hands of each and every one.
