They are very slippery, expensive to make and bad to use screen protector on them and the cuurves easily breaks and are very costly to repair.
Flat screen repair costs are under 100 usualy curved screen even ion very old S6 edge cost 300 to fix.

Samsung and Apple are expensive with garbage UI in case of Apple prison OS and nothing premium inside just tons of lies about charging speeds about shapphire lenses and many else.
They cost 3-5 times less to make compared to final selling price but if something is expensive it does not means its premium.

Even the crap phone is not that expensive.
They do and worship every kind of slavery to reduce bills and cost to make one as much as possible. Xiaomi, Motorola, Realme and many said brands uses usualy same materials as other brands the main difference is some litterary giives and others would rob you and smile upon that like nothing happened.
Most phones uses Samsung or Boe displays, Sony camera, qualcomm chips etc.
Litterary most brands buying from same suppliers the price will be equal. Main difference is the final price at your vendor.

If motorola is selling for $480, obvioulsy the final cost of this is not even $300.
Bill of material of samsung phones is above $400, ultra has hardware over $500.
Add to this all other costs.
How many times I need to tell you that motorola and chinese OEMs can decrease price by using many chinese components that do not also pay import taxes because they are made in China?
Crap iphone 13 pro 256GB has hardware evaluated for near $600. Only the pieces.

Its specs and pricing is something many will buy like crazy.
S23 not that great since it does not support fast charging and have many else compromises like nno charger in box, no superB screen and camera etc. but kept ultra high price.
Only S23 ultra will have super B camera but hell slow crawling maybe 15-20W charging speeds. Like people have nothing else to do just wait hours to to up their battery.

I'll be trading in my Flip4 for an S23 Ultra. The flip is cool but I keep dropping it and it's only a matter of time before the hinge is destroyed. Plus it has no zoom camera
