YUKI93, 14 Jan 2023I can attest to that. Even in my country, TV is still more ... moreSame here in Slovakia.
Some channels like about nature or Dr. POl vet clinic tv series and many else still loves to see every day. For me casual TV died because its same thing every day but things from nature like Above said Dr. Poll Vet clinic, nat geo, history hd, cooking channels with Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Olivier etc. Ultimate survival with Bear Grylls, How it is made etc. still loves them to copy their recipes in kitchen when i have free time. Some competitions like Fort Boyard, Who want to be a milionaire etc and many else.
But casual movies full of violence are no longer my main desire.

Only in America. EU won't allow such.! xD

Doesn't Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max carry TV shows? So people don't watch TV nowadays and only watch TikTok videos? That's better for society and censored YouTube vids?

I think YouTube has gotten worse since 2017-2018 which ironically was around the time Google turned 20. We forget Google has only been around since 1998 when it feels they've been around forever.

I'm really no longer a fan of Google anymore and try to watch YouTube via NewPipe. That's as close to watching it as YouTube Premium to avoid the countless ads.

YouTube was great from 2006-2011. Was still pretty good up to 2016. The first 10 years when Google bought them was good. Then it became a corporate machine.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2023U can say by yourself, i personally, and many other people ... moreI can attest to that. Even in my country, TV is still more popular than streaming.

Then there's the stupid algorithm that will always, always suggest the stuff you watched even once by accidentally clicking on it. It hardly suggests new videos, and rather it keeps suggesting similar content or even worse content from the same channel that was once viewed. I mean, whats the point of subscriptions then ? YouTube will mess up the feed with the same kind of content anyways. It's annoying

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2023What's wrong with YouTube streaming TV ? For me it... moreThe problem in itself isn’t the TV streaming, it’s that they’re trying to play by the same rules TV does when it used to be a completely different platform. This means making everything “family friendly”, censoring creators, demonetising for little to no reason, offering no support when they falsely flag things (which is unfortunately very common), treating different creators differently or to different standards (huge brands have different copyright systems than regular creators, for example), etc.

YouTube was built on the backs of small creators, and it’s been turning against them year after year. You can get demonetised for saying a curse word 30 minutes into a 60 minute harmless video essay, but then there’s literally illegal stuff on the platform and for YouTube that double standard is perfectly fine. The language censorship problem is especially ironic since they already have YouTube Kids, a platform in which that censorship is actually very valid and understandable.

The only reasons why YouTube hasn’t died yet is because they have Google backing it up and there are no real competitors. I hope that changes one day.

Sorry about the rant, but I’ve been there almost since the beginning and it really hurts to see where it’s going.

So is it TV channels, or TV shows?

Because if it streams just some live tv channels, meh.

But if they are going for streaming of TV shows with easily blockable ads, that would be interesting. Especially since Discovery is trying to sell their shows to anyone that is buying. Might get GOT free and legal on Youtube.

People aren't watching TV anymore, why bring in something that people are losing interest in? Money is the reason.

Anything Ad Inclusive Should Be Free Anyway ^_^
