18 March, 2013
A Qualcomm-based North American version was expected, but the Swedish phone was a surprise.

Samsung didn't even have prototypes ready for the Unpacked event. You just remember what I said here. No 5410 on shelves before end of May.

    Check here in Wikipedia:

Samsung don't deal with Foxccon at all, they depend on themselves, "engadget" mentioned they put order to their factories not Foxccon to build Exynos and other parts.

Major customers of Foxconn include or have included:

    Acer Inc. (Taiwan)[39]
    Amazon.com (United States)[7]
    Apple Inc. (United States)[40]
    Cisco (United States)[41]
    Dell (United States)[42]

Samsung manufactures the chips, but Chinese hands assemble the components into the product called Galaxy SIV. Takes a lot of time from chip manufactured to hit the stores, 6 weeks at least, and Samsung claims they'll only start manufacturing the Octa somewhere down the line n Q2.

Exynos dual core A15 "Nexus 10" scored more than Snapdragon quad core A15 "LG Optimus G + HTC One".

Even so i don't rely on benchmarks, because real life experience which is count and Exynos is better in real life.

BTW Samsung can't use Exynos chip with LTE in north America and Sweden because of the patents. Qualcomm patented LTE technology in there, Samsung can't use Exynos chip embedded with LTE chip inside they must use it separately which will make the phone heavier and thicker and more battery drainage.

I wonder how those benchmark figures will look once the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z get a firmware update to 4.2.2. As I recall once the HTC One X was updated to 4.0.4, the figures were much much closer to the SGS3.

Norway is also getting the Snapdragon 600, according to Samsung Norway. Apparently it's because its the only chipset that supports our 4G.

Not really a surprise as Octa manufacturing only starts in Q2 and then it has to make the Foxconn plants, units assembled and packed, shipped overseas, checked at customs and by local quality control, make it to carrier testing and bloatware and then push out to the market. I don't see Octa-core SIVs landing before the very end of May, maybe early June.
