0odle-noodle, 24 Jan 2023It cant be that much of a difference in time, nowhere near ... moreWe must differ Samsung from Google. Meanwhile Google "only" has around 8-9 phones, Samsung has way more

Haven't received the update just yet. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2020 (WiFi, USA)

rizki1, 22 Jan 2023I thought this got both yesterday. Now we know how it takes... moreIt cant be that much of a difference in time, nowhere near Samsung's SIX MONTH wait for some of their lower end devices. because my old pixel 4 got the android 13 update the same day that the android 13 stable build went out to pixel devices

              I have a samsung s20 5g unlocked, g981u1ues3fvk1

Still waiting for the ui 5 update

rizki1, 23 Jan 2023we know they are low market share, but you can't just ... moreI don't forget about them and don't really need to check them all, even though they're dead or kinda dead or having low market share but every phone has its user.

Also xiaomi is indeed late and the users of xiaomi devices are still Many than them almost everywhere and xiaomi does promise regular updates/upgrades to its users but still playing catch up when providing it.

Unb1453d, 23 Jan 2023Personally, they're dead to me. Speaking technical... morewe know they are low market share, but you can't just forget them if you still talking about Xiaomi are late in updates.. because those brands that I mention still releasing some phones and it have many users you can check it in the comments in every phone pages.

rizki1, 23 Jan 2023it's slow but still faster than Motorola, Sony, Asus a... morePersonally, they're dead to me.

Speaking technically, those brands despite using only stock android on their phones, are really DOA because of lame software update policies even if they come with amazing hardwares. That's for asus and sony, while nokia is already a dying name, and motorola still sells in some market and kinda popular there for the budget even though the updates maybe like 1x or nonexistent.

So that may be all that's left, are most likely a group of chinese brands, a korean, and an american.

Oh it's fair since we're talking about the speed of updates here which is comparable when comparing their price range in the same category, also FYI pixels don't have low end phones, maybe midrange, as pixels' budget offerings are like pixel 3a, 4a (4g n 5g), 5a, 6a, 7a, and so on.

Unb1453d, 23 Jan 2023Only u just knew. But not knowing that Pixels are still fas... moreit's slow but still faster than Motorola, Sony, Asus and Nokia.. those 4 brands are stock Android.. how about that?

Pixel doesn't have low end phone fyi, they only release 3 devices a year so it's not fair.

rizki1, 22 Jan 2023I thought this got both yesterday. Now we know how it takes... moreOnly u just knew. But not knowing that Pixels are still faster than your average miui devices. And also think about those chinese companies who release too many phones on the market and rebadging them everywhere else and count how many and how long and how fast for one of those to even get os upgrades and updates.

rizki1, 22 Jan 2023I thought this got both yesterday. Now we know how it takes... moreIts not difficult if you have drivers already

The difficult part is testing and solving any issues that might pop. Just see custom roms for example, they can get updated monthly on day one, but bugs take a while to get solved

GSM arena, even the 2022 model comes with Nov security patch. Samsung is doing quarterly updates on Tab S6 Lite

I thought this got both yesterday. Now we know how it takes time to only release the Android version on different phone models.. LTE and WiFi only. Now think a phone with different processor, ram, resolution, camera etc. If you think Pixel is fast actually they takes some time to release all of its model.
