        Sounds like the M1-2 GPU isn't there yet and they are doing too much with the CPUs. It is obvious you can darken the outside of all clear goggles to achieve a VR interior surface.
        AR is the real game changer anyway. When you can see and hear your AI companion next to you, you'll understand why.

          well just wait a minute, if its going to struggle running more than 2 people in a facetime call, id love to see this thing join a public VR-Chat room 🤣🤣🤣

            doubt the hardware costs $3k to make, it is like 3 Macbook Airs or 3 OLED TVs that makes money for a company. like Meta, they probably overspent on software/app R&D which is the reason Apple don't make money on the first Gen.
            the truth is, the headset should be another form factor of the smartphone only that display is so close to the eyes. like the smartphone, apps and software will come from developers.

                  This isn't happening, I can't see how Apple would go for something like this and expect it to see sales take off, there are so many nonsensical things about Gurman's description/projection like having a battery pack the size of 2 iPhones in your pocket with a cable linked to the headset, just to have a cartoony avatar to Facetime your friends/coworkers.

VR/AR stuff are still for limited and targeted customers. MS hololens was one kind of and more natural than this toy.

                                    Before apple fans grab their pitchforks, let me say sheep exist for other companies too. If samsung puts out a 3000 dollar headset, samsung sheep will grab it too.

                                        I don't believe for one second Apple are doing a VR headset, it's a fad that has already passed like 3D and is now a very small niche.
