Nothing Phone (2) coming to US this year, says CEO Carl Pei

The company just didn't have enough resources to deal with US carriers when designing the Phone (1). It has grown significantly since then and feels ready now.

    I don't understand why the back of the phone is so ugly and the punch hole on the screen is in the corner. This phone is built for the Ugliness Awards.

    Also the light on the back seems like a completely useless gimmick to me.

Even in the market they were available, Samsung quickly removed them from many retialers' inventories when they released the A53. In 2023, it will be even harder to find the A52s.

But in some western markets, Nothing 1 is decent as there are not many competitions around. This is why Nothin is focusing on Europe, and later the US, where the majority is under flagship Apple and Samsung phones.

          Same strategy as OnePlus. Hype up first, then sell the same $1000 flagships later. In year 3 or 4, I'm predicting Pei will sell the company to Oppo.

            This aint Xiaomi, Samsung or any other bloatware UI phone.
            And those lights are decent i mean phone looks unique.

              Because Nothing is a new brand, a flagship with a high price would be a bad idea. Target the middle class with killer features and pricing, and I am sure they can gain a good share of the market.

                  And Nothing has yet to release anything of interest, their phone and sets of earbuds are unremarkeable at best, the type of thing nobody but paid media praises.

                  If Nothing wasn't backed by California moguls, we never would have heard of them.

                            It's gonna be yearly releases like all the others. No matter how much Nothing tries to stand out from the crowd on the outside, they're still the same as the others on the inside.

                                    It's chip is only bit faster in GPU intensive tasks, while being bit slower in CPU intensive tasks, it has worse screen, no certificated protection against splashes, it's not a better phone lol.

                                    Blind OnePlus fanboys, even Samsung or Xiaomi fanboys don't make such outlandish takes, you guys know to be almost on par with Apple fanboys which is quite an achievement ngl.
