Phone dont need to be 8mm thick while can be something like up to 15mm thick that would make so much space that you can have 5000mAh battery in them no problem and also have micro SD slot that in budget phone have it as second sim slot. Also with this more space you can have 3.5mm jack too. You probably even have space for some good cooling cause of more space.
Thickness of phones get smaller while the phone gets bigger and bigger by flattening the phone. It's like they just use rolling pin to make the phone larger and thinner all the time and then complain they have no space. Well dahh
It's just lazy solution to say there is no space. Make phone 2-3mm fatter and you have already enough space to get like 2000mAh battery space in there with just fatter battery

Or do you have trouble identifying a fake one? You know Samsung has a bona fide software which helps identify a fake card! There's just no excuse now.

Yes, people try to cheat you with fake cards, and with 1 star reviews rampant on online sites, I fear customers do get fooled.
Now, I have had 8 microSD cards(all original) over a 10 year period. Not a single one corrupted. All running great.
The oldest one is a 32GB Class 10 Sandisk which I used in my Nokia 808 Pureview.
The newest is a Samsung 512GB Grade 3, already an year old now.

LOL, a heated debate about SD cards in an article about a smartphone camera, and one single comment about the camera.
Don't tell me anybody, SD cards are not relevant any more ;-)
I am so glad i managed to have my new phone featuring a SD card.
Sure they can go corrupt.
But i hope buying a premium card will make this less likely.
And: had a phone where the internal memory failed.
So that data was lost, but my card still worked.

And... moreThe only way to save your data if the phone itself dies is cloud, that's why they try so hard to sell you the cloud and removing the sd slot. I'm not into crazy theory about mass spying of cloud or any of that BS, I'm just saying that it is easier to backup your data by physically remove the sd card and insert it to your pc than relies on cloud. No network, no cloud. No monies, cloud gone.

Me and my father had to lost thousands of pictures and videos because of corrupted sd cards. Since then we never use it.

The big camera produces good pictures, it's the best portrait camera phone.
