I used to be a huge proponent of Samsung's flagship features but they cut more every year while increasing prices making them not compelling at all.

Well my phone is S10+
Not an easy decision because it's not cheap. But 4 years of OS upgrade and 5 years of Security Update is a much easier pill to swallow.

The only reason I preordered one is because I can exchange my cracked screen Note8 for a $1000. I took the deal and next year will exchange my Note 10+, with hooes next year will have wifi7 (very annoying that this years didn't!). So all in al my Ultra will cost me short of $190! Deal

In a way I want to just buy one, but in other way, I can't get around the fact it costs over 1200€ for the Ultra. If I do this, I'll have to commit to it for 4-5 years to really make sense. Not gonna lie, I do wish having a flagship again.
But I also kinda like my Poco X4 GT. It's cheap and cheerful and in a good way. There's nothing really wrong with it, even camera is good enough that photos aren't just total garbage. If I had some crap phone it would be a no brainer, but because it's so decent I'm hesitating anyway.

They are the same as ... moreNot true at all. I got s23 Ultra and compared to S22 ultra my sister got last year, it's heaven and earth difference in polisj and capability not to mention camera.
If you can't afford or don't see much of the reason to upgrade, that's fine. Wait for new messy generation of s phones to follow. But s23 Ultra is the most polished, since S10.

This is easy: pass for all models.
They are the same as last year models, which are cheaper. And last year models are the same as the ones before them.
And all of them lack features which are useful.

I dont understand why people always need to buy the latest when previous owned phone is still great, company shouldnt make new phone every year but every second or third, less pollution, less component shortage with more significant upgrade, rather than just a camera or a chipset differencd. Making every year so many phone (low or high hand), half of it sold the rest goes to the bin because it s too expensive, cant recycle or repairing is too difficult.

I upgrade from S22 and it is more changes than expected the buttons are moved a bit up which is good, the sides are straighten to more square that made the phone feel a lot wider than S22 the feel was nicer in S22, but the power is a lot better and battery so far a true improvement that goes for the cameras too quicker more stable but little to much yellowisch touch to the coloring in compairsion great phone easy to recomend pricy yes but 256GB for the same as 128 here in sweden that levels out at least now at the release...

Most likely one can get S23 in the late fall of '23 for 60% of the pre-order price.
Everybody is bleeding on smartphone sales, even Apple is stumbling.

Maybe S24u, x100proplus or anything close to that. Having 200mp and 10mp in one phone is just not my taste.
