Hemedans, 04 Feb 2023Its Overclocking of X3 core not Overclocking of whole Soc,
... moreDont be fool.
1) increasing 1 core by 0.16GHz makes zero difference and no gain to user. Qualcomm does it because they benefit when chinese brands fool users with Plus version of SoC. Useful would be increasing all cores by 0.75GHz.
2) pointless to overclock if full power is not allowed. Performance restriction should be users choice, not OEM's.

PorkHotdog, 04 Feb 2023Do people still care about these? I've stopped caring ... moreYes. This is why chinese brands show antutu score during the press when they announce new phones, to fool ppl into believing their phones are faster than other flagships, when only samsung phones are slower.

Hemedans, 04 Feb 2023This is not true Though, people care a lot about benchmark... moreGeneral YouTube views can be 10 million max. Gsm visits daily isn't even 1/10 of true tech forums like AT, LTT, TH, NBC, TPU. But buyers of iPhone and Samsung are hundreds of millions.

Let's be honest nobody really cares about these benchmarks unless there's something out of the ordinary, in a bad sense. All we want to know is: Are the temperatures good? Does it throttle? Cause then overclocking really doesn't make much sense..

k0vasz, 04 Feb 2023I'm pretty sure there are people who buy phones based ... moreThis is not true Though, people care a lot about benchmarks, and there are website like Gsmarena, youtube chanells etc where people who dont know benchmarks will be influenced to buy phone with better specs.
In 2019 Samsung released A10, best lowend ever released at that time, sub $100 phone with cortex A73 could handle heavy games and lot of heavy apps, it became best selling Android phone 2019/20, since that time Samsung downgrade A11, A12, A13 etc, all of these successor failed to replicate A10 success.
Same to Xiaomi, redmi 9 was spiritual successor of A10, best lowend of its time introduced cortex A75 at $120 price range with full HD display, this Device together with Redmi note 9 pro were always in top 10 most sold Android devices.
There was Redmi 9C, redmi 9A etc but didnt sell as much as 9 this show specs do help in sales.

The 8 Gen 2 is one of the best chips Qualcomm designed in years. It's not every year they get it right with the perfect balance of power and efficiency. The 810 (2015), 888 (2021), and 8 Gen 1 (early-2022) were not efficient enough. The higher single-core speeds in CPU and GPU could make the S23s better for emulation than the Red Magic 8 Pro.
S23 Ultra is the one, folks. The Fold 5 and Flip 5 will come with smaller batteries with the same chip. Fold 5 powers a larger internal display. Flip 5 will probably come with a 3900 mAh battery. Putting 5000 will make it too thick when it's already thick when closed.
The number 23 is the GOAT number. The S23s will be released on Michael Jordan's birthday. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the Michael Jordan among all their smartphones: the GOAT.

"But European and Indian consumers will likely benefit the most, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy blows last year's Exynos 2200 SoC out of the water."
In India, they already had Snapdragon S22 series last year.

PorkHotdog, 04 Feb 2023Do people still care about these? I've stopped caring ... moreI'm pretty sure there are people who buy phones based on syntetic test results, but... it might be a 0,01% of the consumers
for the rest, literally everything is more important than how much points it gets in 3DMark

Samsung has ordered an overclocked version j... moreIts Overclocking of X3 core not Overclocking of whole Soc,
What Samsung did here is most rational take, you need perfomance core to be as powerfull as possible, efficiency core need to be underclocked so you can actual benefit in day to day usage, most of time you dont use that multicore 100% but that single core will benefit even average user, in browsing, simple games etc

Everybody knows OC wasn't necessary. Once it's there, all we need is no harm done. The rest is not too important, just little extra fun. Let's see what they've done.

PorkHotdog, 04 Feb 2023Do people still care about these? I've stopped caring ... moreWow, you even mentioned how old you were when you stopped caring about benchmarks and think "all we need" is bigger screen and battery.
Your narcissism is showing really hard.

Super Android 22, 04 Feb 2023Who wrote this article, very poor. They had the audacity to... moreYou need to learn about On And OFFscreen benchmark, due to resolution S23 would never win in On screen benchmarks, because others have FHD.
Offscreen one ignore Resolution and only test gpu, the Common Benchmark used 3dmark wildlife Extreme you can clearly see the difference,
