"It also carries a distinct design, so you'll never mistake it for another maker's slate."
One month later and the Oppo Pad 2 is going to have the same exact design.
Welcome to the tech world.

If this doesn't include a headphone jack and MicroSD slot, this is a fail. There's easily enough space for both. Tablets are so gimped in functionality vs laptops with Windows or Linux it's not even funny.

Av1 support will be a must have on new Android 14 devices...
Mediatek offers that in hardware since 3 years!
And people continues to prefer obsolete decoders on 870, 888, 8 Gen 1 and 8+ Gen 1...
And D9000 is as powerfull as 8 Gen 1 and use TSMC's efficient process, not Samsung's...guess why Qualcomm switch back to tsmc's since 8+ Gen 1.
It's a mystery for me! How the hell Qualcomm can be so appreciate after 888 and 8 Gen 1
No custom rom will change that.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2023Thin bezels? Jeez those are huge. Battery is OK. Dimensity ... moreBezels are still important for palm rejection, especially when you have stylus support. Also, it doesn't clutter the same and you have a true fullscreen experience.
As for Dimensity, you are definitely missing out on performance per price.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2023That's because many tablets are mediatek or some weak ... moreXiaomi's system is not really locked down compared to Samsung's. They still allowed the users to unlock the bootloader, and yet you can see tons of custom ROM for Xiaomi devices with Snapdragon.

The 7:5 aspect ratio is almost closer to the aspect ratio of an A4 paper. This tablet is definitely not a copy of the Oppo Pad and Vivo Pad as I first thought. It's a shame that there's no LTE/5G connectivity, USB-C 3.1/3.2 with wired video output, and 256/512 GB internal storage. I'm more than okay with the Dimensity 9000 SoC.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2023As if most tablets even get custom ROM support. That's because many tablets are mediatek or some weak devices that no one wants to buy them. And if not like with Samsung or Xiaomi tab, they are quite heavily locked down to prevent exactly custom ROM support and root. You think the upcoming pixel tablet won't have lots of custom ROMs keeping the device up to date many years even after google drops support for it?
