So break a lot of stuff for something that doesn't matter enough for it to be worth it.
If you have AirPods you have an iPhone so making this change on the headphones requires you to make the change on the phone otherwise you've managed to achieve 2 cables yet again.
While these mods are fun they're like custom roms for android. Worth it for the techie but not worth it unless it's a sideproject and you're not effectively risking your current device.

Rosso, 09 Feb 2023This being Apple, I wouldn't be surprised if they remo... moreAnd then Samsung will post a tweet making fun of them, saying something like "our phones come with a charging port" and then 2 months later they remove the port on their phones too and delete the tweets
Fast forward and Xiaomi quickly joins the trend copying Apple not to be late followed by the rest of those generic Chinese brands
Then you come to gsm arena to complain about it and you'll have the usual apologists saying "who needs a charging port" or "this isn't 2012, start charging wirelessly!"
You know the usual stuff

Apple must be shitting themselves after the EU regulator ruled for USB Type C ports. Hence, you can slowly see more Apple products (including iPhones) will soon be featuring a USB Type C port.

Only Apple still uses lightning and gives usb c to usb c cables with Beats. Such a shame.

FatShady, 08 Feb 2023i thought only iphones and macs the only two that don'... moreAirPods still have Lightning. I think the majority of the rest of Apple's products have moved to USB-C, and they'll all be moved USB-C by the end of '24 anyway.
