Weekly poll results: the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup is off to a flying start

12 February 2023
All three models proved to be quite popular in the polls. The pricing is a concern for those looking to buy an S23 Ultra, but price is less of an issue for the other two.

Watching Flossy Carter's Spigen cases videos, the S23 Ultra looks like an absolute winner thanks to the Ultra Hybrid OneTap Ring case.

Flossy prefers the green S23 Ultra and I think it looks best with the Tough Armor case the way my red iPhone SE 2022 looks with a red one. But after seeing Thao Huynh's S23U review, I prefer it in white. The OneTap Ring is a clear case and I like that on with white rears.

A clear OneTap Ring with a 10,000 mAh MagSafe power pack is the perfect combination. If say you can get 2-days with the S23 Ultra by itself, you can extend it by nearly 4 days with that magnetic battery pack. Not many Android smartphones are compatible to Apple's MagSafe battery pack.

It's pricey. Will spend another $120 as the case and battery pack (non-Apple) are about $60 each. But think of the travel convenience and possible 6-days of battery life it brings without needing an outlet. Try to get a cheap 10,000 mAh battery pack. The Apple one is only half the capacity and overpriced ($94 on Amazon).

S23 Ultra is the best smartphone Samsung has ever made and you can make it even better.

rizki1, 12 Feb 2023this is proof people doesn't need microSD, 3.5mm jack ... moreWhat? Are you dumb?
This poll is not about are you buying A or B, one with headphone jack and other without. It's asking if you are buying phone A which lacks microsd and headphone jack like the rest of the phones, but is still better than them.

Besides that, S23 is the first compact phone of this year and might be the only one if Asus bails out.

Samsung needs the next S and S + (not Ultra) to have 5x Zooms. And some of that 200MP tech should trickle down into 50MP sensors too

Sony phones back in 2010-2015 were tragedy. Poor quality, low reliability, high price. Every their phone was missing something important. So... Sony almost died and became a minor, irrelevant brand.
I had two Sony phones myself. Not getting any other ever.

This trend of making everything flat needs to stop because it's NOT good
I have the S22 plus and the flat back isn't doing any favors. It makes the phone feel too thick and holding it with the edges digging into my hand is really uncomfortable
Luckily the next iPhone will be curved again so hopefully this will put an end to all this flatting nonsense

I got my S20 FE 5G (Snapdragon everywhere) in late 2021 and I think it was still the fastest available non-folding Samsung in the UK even then despite being a year old. An Exynos S23 would have absolutely locked in a three-year cycle for me, this Snapdragon one makes me rethink this.

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2023I don't know why you got laughed and get a red cross w... moreI think the reason why Sony brought the jack back and continues to use an sd slot is because they have to make their phones more appealing
Samsung and Apple are global giants, they can make trash decisions like removing features because they know even if they piss people off there will always be others who will defend them saying what they removed is outdated and unecessary (like some people on this site). They're never worried about losing money
The Chinese meme brands on the other hand aren't as popular in the west but they don't care because they have the Chinese market to sell to with a population more than the US and Europe combined. This is why Huawei is still around even after getting slapped in the face with the ban
Now Sony, Sony pulled out of most countries and only sell their phones to a select few because barely anyone is buying their phones. They don't have fanboys like Samsung and Apple do so they can't risk doing stupid decisions (tho their 21:9 ratio is kinda stupid, it's not doing them any favors as most people hate it)
But their worst mistake are the prices. They're walking on thin ice that's slowly cracking every year if they continue this trend of overpricing their phones. Nobody is going to spend $1500 on a phone that's not a Samsung or an Iphone

I hope Samsung adopts a squar-ish design for thee whole S line. It would help to differentiate from the plethora of A models existing. The slightly curved screen can be a nice touch too.

Sony could have just continued doing it all along and be with the rest of the field, but they didn't. It does show that headphone jack never goes out of trend and it always stay relevant forever.
