The best word prediction i have seen till now is from Typewise keyboard. It's sad it has much to improve.

i have been using Swiftkeys for years now and everytime i try Gboard i keep going back to Swiftkeys word predictions in Swiftkeys is far better for me especially when i use English and Arabic even though i'm using Pixel 5 i still can't use Gboard as my main keyboard.

I have tried it.
If you need to type/gesture in Chinese Simplified & often switch back and forth to Traditional, UX is still clunky but next word prediction is much better than that in Swiftkey.
If you only use English and non Chinese languages, you'd be ok with any one of them

From the start of my Android life i have been using swiping type
The glide feature...
Now if i need to type every single then i won't need such keyboard

Ive been using gboard ever since, the screenshots still look the same to me, or at least for months now.
also the voice search? I never remember seeing it on the top panel, never.

It's sad they haven't updated the looks for devices which are on Android 11 and older. They did release material you design Dialer and other stuff but Gboard is same...

in gboard you can disable auto-correct while keeping the recommendation
but in reality, except in formal situation, people dont care much about miss-spelled words, then people who receive the messages usually also know those miss-spelled words also
language doesnt need to be perfect, it will just fine as long each other understand what it means

Very good keyboard. Though I use Samsung default keyboard but Gboard is good as well. Just disable everything you don't need. I keep only capital letters so that all sentences start with capital letter. And auto spacing so when I use swype to type all words put space between them. And to keep it simple I just use qwerty layout with hidden symbols and numbers under keys.

Simple Keyboard is the best if you value privacy. It basically looks the same as Gboard, without all the junk. Also, spellchecking just makes you lazy and since this one doesn't have it, you'll also improve your language skills because you'll actually have to think how words are spelled and not just wait for keyboard to correct you.
