The reson why pentile still matters on HD screens vs FullHD is becuase of the huge pixel gap/spacing and placement. On LCD the gap is much smaller and thin single lines does not break up in the same way.
LCDs now offer black level that equals black, and better brightness than amoled. Thinner panel doesn't make it brighter, just thinner.
Most amoleds are horribly calibrated (Samsung and HTC), Motorola's have been decently calibrated, but still pentile.
Sure, Motorola -and others - have used Sammy's AMOLED panels. And? LCD is still better. By all means, a HD screen looks great if amoled or LCD, but it's much easier to spot the weakness of the pentile amoled matrix rather than the LCD. Therefore it's simpler to see the benefit of a FullHD amoled vs HD amoled - and not so much with FullHD vs HD LCD.

im tired of having limited use of my phone due to battery life!!
im definitely getting this...all these other phones get low battery capacity that you dont get to fully enjoy it because you have to worry about it shut down when your far from home
and for those complaining about 1080p screen use your common sense only a 27inch plus screen will make a difference..your eyes wont distinguish between 720pand 1080 video on 4.7inch-10inch screen

Not to mention the Razr has been using Amoled too so you are obviously making up irrelevant jealous hater comment. Worried? Amoled lost it's edge??? Since when did LCD catch up? LCD no longer requires backlight? Has better sunlight visibility? Has full viewing angle? Is thinner? Is less power consuming? Can now display deep true black no matter how high the brightness? Has near close to perfectly even lighting? Has the option to have beautiful colors "prefered by most minus jealous internet trolls" or tune down to fairly natural colors while still being deep in blacks and superior in sunlight? Has now gained the huge margin of response time? And technically if you want to compare the HD and FULLHD and pentile tv's need at least 5-6subpixels to not be pentile and can even have up to 32 I believe. So that makes a huge difference. And if the resolution is not such a big deal then neither is pentile. Especially at HD or FULLHD. Especially redesigned and FULLHD

If this phone ends up being the real deal, I'm onboard!! 4000mAh battery, that's awesome. I have a feeling this phone would also have a budget price tag, and no Sense or Touchwiz. How can anyone complain.

Ricky, 26 Mar 2013Screen must be full hd amoled. Since you're cleary a sammy f-boy it's clear you want full hd since their pentile HD screens aren't the most impressive - though that's because it's a pentile.
amoled lost it's edge on LCD years ago. If this does have a amoled screen, I sure hope it's not a pentile one.
This phones ppi is retina at normal viewing distance. It's considered retina at about 10-11 inches viewing distance.

If the specs are real and the real world battery life under moderate use exceeds 36 hrs then it's safe to say that Mororola has a winner in its hands.
