The... moreGoogle has many branches of companies that are more profitable. The main thing they sell is their service (Google Search, Google Drive, YouTube, etc.) They won't try as hard as Samsung or Apple which are mainly focused on selling electronics. So if this year the Pixel sales drop by 50%, it won't be a big deal for them.
Also, they might "collect" your data from Google apps, the same Google apps that you also use on your Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola, every company that sells phones with Android, and even iPhone.
Am I ever used a phone with Stock Android? Yes, if I'm not I wouldn't talk about it right here. Stock Android gives you THE REAL experience of Android, that's how Android is supposed to be looking like. Stock Android is great for everyone who needs simplicity on their daily driver. Not everyone needs to customize their icon to look fancy, futuristic, sketchy, or whatever adjective words can be used for that term. Not everyone needs customize their font. Not everyone needs tons of different clock styles or useless animated wallpapers. Stock Android will only provide Google apps as "bloats", not some second browser or some second app store besides the Play Store that everyone won't touch.
But back again, that's just my opinion. Whether it's Stock Android or custom ROMs, it's still an Android.

There exist no OEM that made sustainable profits by supplying "Stock Android".
HMD failed to infiltrate mid-range market, Motorola kept getting kicked from one owner to another and has shown somewhat presence in market only until recently, Fairphone and Essential Phone are as good as non-existent.
Even Google failed to run Pixel lineup profitably. Do you think if they weren't selling off your data, they'd be profitable as an OEM?
Also, have you ever used any "stock Android" or Android One device? I don't think so.
Not even a naive user will compare stock Android and custom ROM for they are totally opposite instances of same operating system. Any custom ROM, has way more options for customisation and tweaking than any Android skin provided by any OEM. While Stock Android is a useless software wherein one has to install an app for literally everything. Even after that, it can't provide with features anywhere what any custom skins provides.

Sin, 19 Feb 2023I would personally love that As it's such a bothersom... moreCan you add the ugly edge scree that makes the phone almost hard to hold, messes the screen real estate and need a case? It's just a way to slowly condition people. Watch next time Apple will say the front cam needs to be always on for the users safety and well being. Then Samsung will mock it but then have the same feature on their next S model. And the consumers defending it because it prevents theft.

I love Stock Android. I prefer it over any custom UI like One UI, Color OS, MIUI, etc. I even flash my older Redmi and Samsung with Pixel Experience, and that's the best decision I've ever made.

As it's such a bothersome problem I can't stand
Notches and hole punch are the wrong incorrect screen shape
It's even so annoying how apps can't display correctly as a result of this stupid fashion trend
Having a bilnd spot on screen as results of selfie camera being there and selfie camera also suffer
So not only is the viewing experience because of dead spot in screen like dead pixels suffering so does pictures quality from the selfie camera as there trying make it smaller but can't understand the this problem shouldn't exist in the first place
I wish practical design was done
If only it was possible
All for Sony Xperia design only brand where the designer have some form of intelligence
The pop up camera is a functional equivalent solution too a none existing problem of screen too body ratio
At least this does fix the privacy problem of being watched by selfie camera as side effect

Google decided it wanted pure Android all to itself as a selling point of pixel phones so stopped the program. I wish all Chinese phones had stock Andriod, nearly all their bloat OS’s suck.

Good for xiaomi that they realize there's demand for clean stock android phones, but phones from oneplus, motorola, nokia and google pixel 7a are a better buy than this android-go e-waste redmi a2 😂
