andibad, 20 Feb 2023Is seems you just lost on your own delusional. All free ... moreFirst of all, nothing is free. When it comes to social media, you get communication services and/or image/video hosting services in exchange for something. In this case, you’re shown ads and you have personal identifiers that are used to get advertisers to reach you, a potential customer (based on your activity). That’s why they make a lot of money, targeted advertisement costs more than traditional advertising. You call me delusional and “a conspirator” despite these being some of the most valuable companies in the world, and they’ve been fined in the past for shady business practices against consumers or failing to protect their sensitive data. The money they make is so much more than what they spend (unless you’re using it carelessly like Zuckerberg on the failure that is metaverse or you just suck at management like Twitter, even before Elon.) But sure, think whatever you want.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2023So they’ve been profiting millions off of our personal data... moreIs seems you just lost on your own delusional.
All free social media are burned their money to provide free stuff to you, and off course investor didnt like it on long term. Off course the conspirator always say they get a lot money from ads and selling data, actually not.
Anything is not free if you want doing an business.

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
I could give a pass for Twittter doing this, since they were losing money and they dont shove ads down your throat.
But Facebook? Hell nah. They can die for all I care. Their platform is long overdue for a better replacement

This is dumb, the only way I would consider paying for a social network would be if the price would be not more than 5 EUR/USD and if it would allow me to REALLY manage my feed by giving me an option to fully turn off ads and customize or turn off the suggestions
