I haven't received a security patch since February for my A-53. I thought we were supposed to receive one every month for the first 2 years, then receive them every quarter after that. Someone please explain? Also i have T-MOBILE in the US.

You wouldn't consider the Pixel 6a a low end phone and the phone that was chosen as the best option if you didn't want the Pixel 6a is the Galaxy a53 5g (also a midrange phone) and the a73 has a better SoC and better cameras than the a53 5g. A phone doesn't have to be the baseline Galaxy S22, for example, to be considered a midrange that's a flagship phone.

Maybe not as much with Samsung nowadays (before they started promising a specific number of updates, they were just as bad), but with many other manufacturers with skins.

Even my A72 after One UI 5.0 update has drastically reduced its battery timing. It doesnt last me a full day as it used to.
Dont know what will 5.1 do to it :(
BTW I only got 5.0 last month on A72. Samsung is too slow for this series software update, Dont know when 5.1 will be available

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2023When come Android 13 for S21 Ultra It already has android 13, so it's either that it's not available in your region yet or it has to do with your carrier. Or just manually scan for updates.
