Bixby update is bringing Text Call support in English, custom wake words

22 February 2023
Text Call turns a voice call into something like text chat. Samsung is also working on a way for Bixby to imitate your voice during the call too.

Geekily looking forward to using "computer" as the wake word.....just really hope i add the start trek computer acknowledgement 'chirp' sound as well for the full experience.

"Bixby can learn to imitate your voice – you can record different sentences and let the software create an AI-powered copy"

Is it only stored offline on the device? If it's being relayed back to any cloud computing services, then it's such a huge privacy risk. Imagine the AI going wild like with Bing and saying whatever it wants, in your voice, to your phone call mate.

And with how Samsung recently had it's software keys stolen, it doesn't instill a huge amount of confidence that they'd be able to keep whatever data they collected safe.

Best to avoid this feature, because even functionally, you're anyways going to have to type, at that point you might as well go out of the room to talk.

not even Google Assistant has a voice replicator and Samsung just beat them to the punch with Bixby of all things. I'm actually stunned

I don't seem to (yet) have custom wake keyword for it. I hope soon, because Hi, Bixby is clumsy and just Bixby isn't fluid enough. "Hey Bixby" would be nice.

Gez, 22 Feb 2023Mine is fine so it's not allYeah that's good, i was just surprised they didn't post an article about that.

Bixby needs to integrate Bing. Cue brainless voice chats with AI.

There are reports that the Galaxy S23 Ultra have a cosmetic screen defect on the bottom right corner. It's a very minor but it's visible. When will we see this article?
