How much ever big the 1.0 type sensor may be, Xiaomi's camera software processing is poor. Once Samsung and Google start using similar tech, Xiaomi will fall short again.

sooner or later there might be a smart phone with a camera module thats as big as the phone itself unless camera modules like wide, ultrawide, telephoto and macro are integrated into one unit.

for what? all these china brands have no interest to launch their top of the line flagship internationally. I won't buy a such expensive phone to worry about no notifications from Whatsapp.

And for data transfer nowdays every or let say most european and american people have at home Wifi 6 or newer same goes for this phone.

Xiaomi is just cheaping it out, while Huawei, for example, actually uses usb c 3.2 with 66w charging on the mate 50.

Nick Tegrataker, 23 Feb 2023Hopefully the new sensor isn't type 1/2.4, that would ... moreYeah, the shorter range one will be more than 2x (some are saying 2.6x and others 3.2x). The oppo find x6 pro will only have 3 rear sensors but the ultrawide and telephoto will be 1/1.56" type sensors so that flagship might also be interesting albeit with less flexible zoom. Will be interesting to see which one is better overall. Yeah, I agree on the 2x. It seems a bit of a waste (if it can be easily done with a main sensor crop like you explain), but it is popular in China especially with females (Vivo has a higher proportion of female customers than males which is probably why they stick with the 2x portrait lens as it's worked for them in the past).

Aierlan, 23 Feb 2023No consistent information. Of course what I posted are only... moreHopefully the new sensor isn't type 1/2.4, that would be a rather severe downgrade from the type 1/2 sensors used on 12S Ultra in terms of the light intake (unless they maintain the same lens aperture diameter). Also, the same could be said for the X90 series as well, but I don't see the point of pairing a ~50mm portrait lens with such a small sensor when a 2x crop from the type 1 sensor used on the primary camera would have a larger area to capture light.
