I'm confused by what people mean by other companies doing this *exact* kind of color changing before... well, OnePlus and Vivo has done something similar with color changing film that react to electric current, but those could only change to blue, and those were back in 2020 and never made it to market.
Everyone else (Realme, Oppo, iQOO, etc.) has only been using film that reacts to sunlight/UV to turn into another color and back.
Correct me if I am incorrect.

If the color changing would give you info it be nice for like notification on black back starts to blink some white or what ever color for notifications.
But for just color change it's just another of the gimmicks that just train your battery for no reason

But being serious now, its kinda obsolete since almost all devices have an AOD which can show more info than a little LED, however I would understand if a company put it on the back of the phone so you can see it when faced down.

That is a very good Tec it should be able to be used in every way hing we have that is coloured eg clothes cars, houses utensils etc Therefore they should continue to develop it .
