Exynos chips supports LTE but like the SD600 relies on an external modem.
The Exynos will not have LTE because it has a Intel XMM6360 DC-HSPA+ modem.

Went in to a (UK) 3 network shop today and the assistant claimed that the UK is only getting the snapdragon S4 variant because it is the only one that supports 4G. Maybe someone from 3 could shed some light on this as it appears to contradict what Samsung themselves are reportedly saying about the Exynos' own 4g capabilities, not to mention the listed posted on GSMArena within the last week or so that showed that the UK will be getting both the i9500 AND i9505 models.

Qualcomm don't use A15 cores, they use Krait Cores which aren't as powerful as A15 cores.
Thar is all.

Back in nov 2010 I was gonna get a smartphone with cutting edge 800mhz cpu but then read a 1ghz was due soon so I waited but then as about to buy it the sales rep told me a 1.4ghz was coming so I went home to return but as I was handing my cc to buy a techie said wait for the new dualcore processors at 1ghz so back to the abode until I later had a sweet dualcore with gig or ram in my hand but then saw the advertisement about a quadcore to be released in next couple of quarters so I just had to wait for this rocket powered phone but alas they announced duo fourcore that'll be faster and save battery power so I almost preordered then a web blog showed even faster 4core-4core so here I am
Just hope my carrier will continue to support my motorola analog phone for one more year....hey one of these days I will get to do that sms thingy once the 16 core 8g ram 4k display 32mp cam smartphone launches
So what's LTE?

And if embedded gthere are still options altho I prefer removable powercell to embedded. And yeah...the SD600 and 800 are sweet processors. Were we discussing gamer rigs then maybe it'd be worth spreadsheeting the benchmarks etc.....
I wudda liked seeing the octa in the usa...who knows maybe later production runs shall have them......the S4 will do well by the qcsd600

Unfortunately the vast majority of comments on gsmarena have become nothing more than rants and raves rather than any informed exchange of idea and opinion.
The article was to inform endusers Samsung Exynos (not Samsung Mobile) announced that the Exynos 5 Octa has full LTE connectivity. The author then added their thoughts on why Samsung Mobile may have decided to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor for the I9505 variant.
Samsung Exynos didn't offer up any additional information regarding why the UK and USA (among others ) markets will see the S4 Snapdragon version. They could've given more info that might have shed more light into Octa production and/or supply but didn't.
Whether an enduser ends up with the Snapdragon or Exynos variant both are powered by CPUs that'll only operate using four cores. The one major difference being the BIG.little platform of the Exynos incorporating a set of four ARM A15 and A9 processors to possibly produce usable power savings.
Both processors are cutting edge technology and it'll be how each CPU is engineered into the S4 device as to speed, interoperability and benchmarking. Each system (SoC) will have pros and cons but will also perform well in the new smartphone.
A power user such as myself (engineer) is less concerned with runtimes (as most any road warrior will tell you we) use non-embedded devices and maintain ample power cell power reserves.
Samsung Mobile has yet to explain the use of two different SoCs. Speculation abounds as to the reasoning for said decision. Whether Samsung Mobile launched early for marketing purpose is now immaterial. This engineer's only concerns being for any issues for developers with multiple SoC usage. Historically prior instances worked out.
For the total power user or gamer there may be reason for preference whether it be to use custom ROM or that one markedly outperforms. The majority of normal everyday endusers wouldn't likely notice any difference except were there operational issues with one or the other.
For those imagining they'd be purchasing an smp 8-core operating processor then all the better for Samsung's bottom line. For those feeling cheated out of an 8-core device then don't purchase. Wait for LG's dual four-core processor due this year.
Personally I shall play with whichever S4 lands on my desk. My workhorse device will be the LGOG2 once launched. The Optimus G and G Pro are fine devices and I look forward to daily use of the G2. Oh and for determined photos I take out my Canon DSLR. Otherwise the good snapshot capability of most any smartphone camera is sufficient.

WOW Samsung is a very untrustworthy company.
They try and justify so many phones having the much lesser chip instead of Exynos saying that "its because of LTE".
But then people say whats the point of getting extra CPU power on the top power smartphone without LTE?!?!?!
"Oh sorry, exynos does have LTE as well".. so the other phone is garbage!?
terrible for sammy fans.
