After "tasting" the use of that thick S-pen, Fold Edition, I don't think I would find that small S-pen enjoyable to use.

I sign documents, edit pictures, highlight text accurately and comfortably since using the thick S-pen fold edition.

I would rather Samsung invest that space in other important features we need. wider outer screen, and thinner size of the phone.

Besides, people don't really maximise the use of S-pen.

walkman8, 02 Mar 2023Already? It's barely 6 months old 😪 Well people start dropping their phones as soon as they get them. There are lots of reports about hinge damage on reddit. I dropped my Flip4 on concrete once but luckily it was OK ( i have since sold the device )

I'll get a Fold 5 if it meets he following ergonomic and convenience requirements: 1. The S-Pen docks with the phone, say, in the spine or one half of the phone. 2. The S-Pen works on the outer display, vital for typical Note like use, such as ticking off items on a task list or marking up a doc when it is inconvenient to open up the phone.

99% of us will never buy this phone, due to silly high price. By greed alone, sammy loose how many sales??

I have not yet seen any persin with a Fold or Flip, in my city of 10 million people....

Most people have a limit of 800 - 1,000 USD to buy a phone. Sammy continue increase prices, even new models today have few improvements, and a boring plastic design ...

It... moreHonestly I think Samsung had tested the simpler setup at some point but found out the complex setup works as per their design parameters. I mean, more parts mean more weight, which is an immediate turn-off for a lot of people. Why complicate it if there is little to gain?

Think of the trunk hinges on the VW Phaeton or any luxury car in that segment, vs. every economy car. You can experience the smoothness as well as the durability (e.g. trunk doesn't flex at all). I'm sure the Magic Vs' hinge feels nice, but let's see some durability tests. Like what happens when sand gets into the mechanism, then what?

IMHO I believe Honor wanted to hit a weight target. The Magic Vs is also missing wireless charging. Odd, no?

Curious in the top pic of this article WHICH is the one in testing? The bottom bronze device looks to have an extendeable screen on both ends of that hinge and it looks terrible!

Also I This taller/higher-angle foldable design as becoming very old and soon to loose in popularity to that of an Oppo Find N2 type of design that better fits in the hand, has more to display on the front-closed screen (side to side vs Top to Bottom) and better to reach for those that do NOT have hands the size of NBA players or VolleyBall players' hands lol.

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2023Hopefully it's more durable than the one on the Flip 4... moreits just same shit but slightly improved angle.
nothing much changed......dun waste the money seriously.
I think for Samsung, they need Z fold 9 to reach all other fold phones' standard.

It doesn't close the gap, it makes it a less of a gap. There's still a gap on the schematics.

while looking at the bottom model, i can see that there's expandable mechanism as well along with folding.

It's a nice talking point for the manufacturers presentation, but we don't know if less parts equals better durability.

Honor can learn from Samsung. They can learn how to make a teardrop hinge fold water resistant and they can learn how to make their hinge flex. Both have a direct impact on how people use their phone. Hinge parts do not.

Furthermore, the crease on the Honor Vs looks as bad as the Z. It's certainly worse than the 1st generation Honor V so they took a step backwards in that regard.

OOT Where is the news that Xiaomi has released a solid state battery?
