Anonymous, 04 Mar 2023Are we going to have the same pill-shaped design until 2050?Well other brands do exist, but I guess it is Xiaomi's attempt of keeping bands and watches apart despite the distinction in general has become quite muddy as many smart-bands has the same/similar sensors and even housing as many smart-watches.
Huawei's naming exemplifies the overlap, with their "Watch fit mini" being practically identical to their "band 7", less the band attachment, and the shape of the button....

Samath N8 808 owner, 03 Mar 2023This is the biggest problem, but won't be solved. I... moreOn my Redmi Band Pro (similar to the Mi 7), there is an option under settings-Bluetooth to turn off the disconnection reminder. I'm not sure if yours has it, but it's worth a check!

I bought the 7 but it went back next day. Just bigger display but the ui too... Where is the point then. The option settings scrolling on the screen, where text could fit with smaller characters. And maybe just me, but I hate these over simplified UI. There is a nice colorful display, then all design is, few circles and lines, instead of a nice, 3d, colorful detailed icon.

EskeRahn, 03 Mar 2023Totally agree. It is fine that they can offer additional... moreI have a band 5. When i go into work i cant take my phone in with me, so it will lose connection all day in work. If band 8 is going to keep asking you to connect that will be super annoying. Currently my 5 connects/disconnects with no issues or notification.

It is fine that they can offer additional features IF it is connected, but they should not require it to do the most basic tasks. (Obviously phone related tasks like showing notifications and/or calls will require it to be connected, and might rely on the phones GPS for tracking trips, if it has not got a GPS of its own).
Fortunately not all brands has such silly software.
At the very least, they could have a setting for "Warn if not connected", and they could even have it default On, as long as you can turn it Off. AND when warning, it could ask if you want to turn the warning Off. That would be much more user friendly...

In fact, while I can continue using my MiBand 4 as a disconnected watch forever, the MiBand7 constantly asks for connection to phone, even when you're not using it.
I don't recommend this Band series to anyone now, despite being a customer of Band 2 and 4.

Very interesting. Will wait for it. Using Mi Band 6. Works fine. If lucky will buy a Samsung smartwatch instead.

They should finally let users use 3rd party software without any need for the Xiaomi one.
