Better ergonomics most of all, a Samsung S21 for example feels much more comfortable than an S22 or 23
This is why i'm hoping this flat trend dies this year and we go back to 2.5d

Does 2.5D offer any advantage over flat display? I had Mi A1 with 2.5D, but I don't remember any benefit except it seemed beautiful if looked closely. However, I could not find a perfect screen protector ever for it. The edges remained unprotected.

Gluing screen protector on a flat screen is 2 minutes of work.
Gluing screen protector on curved screen is much more time hungry.
You glue the middle and then have hard times by pushing bubbles from sides.
If you dont put enough force bubbles will stay on side if you push too much you break your screen protector.
Thats a real fact.
In my life i glued like 5-10 screen protectors on average day.
Gluing on a curved screen is worse than bad.
And man i dont hate Apple i just dont like the way they are customer unfriendly.
Any adroid phone i connect via cable wth PC its immediately working. Apple needs lots of bloatware to do so like Itunes.
Android OS is also more eco friendly than IOS.
Apple knows only how to ask 500 for an SE 2022 with 64GB disk space a price where anyone lese can buy a flagship killer phone.
Man sorry i dont hate because i must but there is no much options in case of Apple.
Its like with spinach, or tomato soup you either love it or hate it there is nothing between.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2023Why are some people so bothered about phones looking simila... moreFirst of all, if EU didn't force apple to use usb-c they wouldn't have accepted to use it ever. So apple did not happily accepted it, this decision was forced onto them.
And second point is that this copy theory is put forwarded by sheeps. Everytime any OEM use feature similar to iphone, the sheeps start crying that the OEM has copied iphone while in reality most of features of iphone are inspired from other OEM's products. Its just that apple does it better. Their implementation of features is good.

2.5D arc edge is awful: it *may* look better when no screen protector is applied, but mounting a screen protector then is finnicky. And the protector has to be smaller then the actual screen, which not only looks ugly (e.g.: gathering a lot of lint at the edges), but also does not protect the 2.5D Edges of the screen.
I found the current soluton the optimum.

I prefer the design of that from camera / face ID cutout. I hope Apple makes it that way. Looks better than the dynamic island in its design coz the dynamic island takes too much screen space. This is my opinion, everyone can have their different preference, of course. We cannot all like the same thing

Why are some people so bothered about phones looking similar in some aspects, claiming that one is copying the other. When Apple accepts to use a USB-C port for example, isn't this supposed to be a welcome move instead of someone saying iPhone is now copying android ? There is no monopoly of ideas. If a particular feature improves user experience, let it be used across when possible.
