Anonymous, 08 Mar 2023Had to Google what MST is because I see so many people ment... moreSamsung disabled the MST function in supported devices for EU, so even if you did have an old Samsung phone it wouldn't work. That's probably why you didn't hear about it.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2023Not sure about the EU, but the USA and most Asian countries... moreIn EU, very few cards still use magnetic strips. Almost everything uses at least secure chip or contactless NFC authentication.

        Still not working in Türkiye...

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2023The moment Samsung dropped the MST support for Samsung Pay,... moreThat is why I still keep my Gear S3 as it was the last ever Samsung Pay-supported smartwatch with MST support. Since then, it's NFC only. Same with smartphones - the Galaxy Note 20/20 Ultra was the last phone with MST support for Samusng Pay.

Sou... moremaybe it's better to use card but recently I had a couple of occasions where I didn't bring wallet when I went for quick groceries but obviously had my phone. besides, it's more convenient to use the phone, which is usually at hand, instead of card, which is usually in wallet in the backpack.

No wonder I didn’t know about it, in EU nobody really cared about MST.

                    2. You can keep track of your spending real time.
                    3. If you have watch, you can make payment offline. (no internet required)
                    4. No one can rfid swipe you.

But i guess it would be a pain if you pay at a restaurant waiter haha.

This would be a nice experiment to see if it takes off. South Koreans really love their national products.

As for Apple Pay/Samsung Pay or whatever: isnt it better to just use your card? I mean, phones arent smaller anymore, so you still need big pockets to carry them around either way 😪.
