When a band for a smartwatch, that is made out of rubber, costs $40-80 dollars then there is no wonder why these products are a tough sell.

Ironically, I was on my way to Best Buy to purchase an Apple Watch and iPad because they were on sale the day prior.....Of course when I show up the next day....no more sale.....soI held off......hopefully the watches and ipad go back on sale....

I was pretty shocked...18 percent decline in smartwatch sales this year.....people just don’t have the money for those prices.....i guess....? I was shocked smart bands went down, too.

I'm still using my 2 year old Apple Watch 6. Will trade it in for the Apple Watch 9 this year.

Nothing more useless than wireless buds and smartwatches.
I'm never giving up my wired IEMs and mechanical + solar watches.

Accurate sport/health/fitness trackers without too many of the smartwatch features and at a reasonable price. They have excellent battery life and also have good notification and connection support for both Android and IOS.

Just to clarify what the mean.
The most obvious ones are Apple and Samsung, since both of the fall to the true smartwatches category.
The Xiaomi on the list is obviously because of the cheaper mi band(activity trackers),and Huawei is there maybe from a mix of both activity trackers like and cheaper smartwatches like GT3 and Runner.
Thats why Samsung and Apple have the biggest gains.
Samsung would have higher sales if the Watch 5 Pro wasnt so expensive.

If smartwatches are limited, then I think most people are realizing bands are complete and uter s!hite and you're better off buying a smartwatch even if a last years model, or just don't bother with it at all. Reduction in interest for bands is one the things that's driving shipments down. Also, samsung seems to be pretty accurate as well.

Nothing beats Apple Watch. Even when the times are bad, they still go up.

I don't like to wear watch and it wasn't convenient for me either. But as I do regular gym now and especially want to come back to running I'm going to buy Polar Pacer Pro and H10 sensor. So for me smartwatch is a gimmick because we all have decent smartphone with us all the time but if you want to track your sport or fitness then for proper sport watch I say big YES.

Not enough progress in battery life or price. Still way too expensive. Plus the models are mainly full blown smartwatches, some people just want an accurate health tracker with some smartwatch features (connect to wireless headphones, notifications). Plus Apple seem only to be the most accurate when it comes to health. The rest are patchy.

No way....i'm wondering why???
Maybe lack of innovation and higher prices have something to do with it????
For example, new galaxy watch 5 have only like 20% better battery than previous model, what is nowhere near to be good enough, same bad charging speed, and it costs lik 25% more.
For what???
If someone didn't buy galaxy watch 4, why would he/she buy even more expensive watch 5!?
Same goes for apple watches.
Why would one buy Pixel Watch, that can't even hold a day ona a charge???
Chinese devices have little better battery life, but it is boring with same and same all over again.
Prices going up, and still no support for 3rd party apps.
All people that have older models don't have to upgrade, when they are not going to gett something different then looks.
People that didn't buy smart watches before, have even less reason to do that, with prices going up.
If it would be cheaper than they are (30 or 50%) maybe it would continue to sell well.

To be expected because why would anyone upgrade that often
Nothing is changing
Thwy keep releasing the same specs with a different packaging
New wearables very often with little to no upgrade
If you have the latest bluetooth and good anc, why even consider buying another
All products last at least 2 years
