As of now, Samsung Semiconductor designs the Exynos chips, but that division will move into Samsung Electronics in a few years. The Asian tech conglomerates work in weird ways like this where even if everything may look to be vertically integrated, internal divisions treat each other like any other customer. (Think of how Xperia phones had purposefully weak cameras for years so as not to undermine Sony's Alpha lineup.)

This really has nothing to do with Exynos since this guy is moving to Samsung Foundry not Samsung Semiconductor or Samsung Electronics. The more interesting rumor would be if this is a move to poach AMD's business away from TSMC (they invested a lot of R&D with TSMC into the 3D packaging tech).

And your 'stable' means nothing if the current Exynos only perform as good as previous generation Snapdragon.

TSMC is bleeding people because people in Taiwan believes the government is ordering TSMC to hand over tech to the US and/or make TSMC American. Supposedly a couple thousand engineers and their family and pet have been moved to the Arizona site already. People aren't going to stay if they think their future is either being fired or forced to move to the US

So which division really made this move. I seen where the mobile division got an Apple chip maker and others but this article seems that they haven't really did their research on which one picked them up.
