I suggested you to download launcher 8 on play store. You will have the same experience of WP8 and you will not be lock on a closed system. Here the link in google play.

With Android, I'm happy for the Open Source community. This is by far the best attempt to push something open and succeed vs closed source OSes (usually well-funded and marketed commercial software). Android has cut across all classes - from high end Samsung/Sony/HTC/etc. (Yes, even the Vertu Ti) to plain vanilla China phones, every class of user is heard and offered an option. A truly democratic concept, and advanced users can root and switch to custom ROM if they want to. And I believe Android is still essentially Linux so the success goes to the Linux community as well. Developers listen to the users, not force users to conform to what they want - or else, there's another ROM available for you. I wish this concept will happen to other technologies as well (desktops, laptop, netbooks, media centers, etc.). I wish more success to Android and the open source community.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2013how about windows phone? I'm an android user and thinking t... moreMoving from Android to WP is like moving from a 4BHK apartment in a 1500+ member community to a 1BHK apartment in a 150+ member community. That doesn't mean WP is bad, but it couldn't pick up as fast as Android did when in it's earlier days. If you want to switch to WP and not be disappointed then wait for a year or two and give it some time to catch up ('catch up', I said, because you already got used to Android), so that you don't feel bad with your move.

how about windows phone? I'm an android user and thinking to switch to WP, not because android is bad or anything, just because of curiosity, and I'm starting to get bored with android.....less marketshare means that developer will be less interested in developing apps for WP, I dont need much app though, what I need is an unit converter (like convertpad on android), scientific calculator (I'm guessing WP already have it), wireless or usb tethering, decent newsreader, decent file manager, unzipper, torrent downloader, and some decent games.......I never visited WP appstore though, so should I try WP? or should I wait for a brighter sign?

I don't understand why the market in US is so important? I remember about 7 years ago (in 2006) when I visited my sister in US, I found out that the phone is always locked with the carrier (non-sim card systems) and not many people in US know that other than using phone to make call, we can send sms (text message). I surprise to heard that they still fight to make mobile phone unlocking legal in US. I believe the news about mobile phone market in US is always overrated and should not be referred as a good benchmark.
