It doesn't need to be a main focus to improved or work well. Especially in the higher price segment.
Why are you even arguing or complaining about a feature being improved on an expensive device in the first place?

They will just put some cameras there and make sure it's existed like their normal flagship line, but the quality will be different. They expensive pricing is for the gaming optimization, like the cooling system that different compared to most normal flagship phone, and ofc, gaming accessories. Tell me any gaming flagship line that has same camera quality with their normal flagship line.
I never said that gamer doesn't care about the camera, but camera is not their main point for buying that phone.

They got rid of the ESS dac in the phone and put it in the headphones. I'd love to upgrade to a 8G2 phone but still clinging on my ROG 5 because the sound is just perfect

That's theft at this point!!
With the lack of upgrades, the price they charge, no sd slot, 2k, accs the fact that 3.5mm is actually selling point that's just unacceptable.

So basically nothing new except for the new SOC just like every year? The ROG 6 was a disappointment because they ditched the ESS dac. More reasons to go for the Redmagic 8 Pro because the design is probably gonna be beaten

Headphone jack and microSD cards alone makes it worthy than iphones and Samsung and Xiaomi (assuming these two features are still retained, you can't predict anything nowadays)

Also unlike other brands, the base model is not a compromised phone, and you can get the same performance out of it. Only buy Ultimate or Pro if you are an Asus fan, since it's just a fan edition.

Adison, 15 Mar 2023very very expensive gaming phone that die on duty.Asus always provide cheap variants, since rog phone 2 era they have tencent version with 128GB storage and 8GB or 12GB ram for ~$600, Rog phone 3, 5, 6 etc all of them had cheaper variant.
You can find rog phone 6 at that price in many markets and i wont be suprised if base Rog phone cost around $600 too.
