As I said both of my friends were happy with their Samsung phones, A52 and A52s respectively until the latest update. Software updates can make the user experience better as well, like with my Tecno Camon 18 Premier, I just got the Android 12 update yesterday, I know, extremely late, but at least I got it and the phone is so much better than it was with Android 11. So far at least.

If a phone runs well out of the box, then there is no need for updates. If it runs poor out of the box then it's just flat out not worth owning it.

However Tecno and Infinix do make perfectly capable phones. Camon 18 Premier costs 200 eur (brand new) in my country, can not tell me that, that isn't an insanely good deal for a 120hz oled display and a complete triple camera setup, 64mp main camera, ultrawide with OIS (!) AND a periscope zoom camera.

                I'm not saying, that every software update is bad, because that's not true either, however in my opinion is that, if a phone is running smoothly and has no issues, I'd rather not get any upgrades that might make it better, or might just make it worse. No software updates will definitely not make a phone useless, I don't even understand where you got that thought from.

                You clearly just seem to think only Samsung and Apple can make good phones, which was never true and is especially false in this day and age. But also just let people enjoy whatever phone they want to use, none of my friends or family members enjoy Samsung phones anymore and neither do I, other than that many many millions of people can and are still enjoying them, same way millions of people enjoy BBK and Xiaomi phones.

                                and the designs are not actually identical either. itel a58 series has pill-shaped camera module; while that one on redmi 12c or poco c55 (its a rebranded redmi 12c) is a squircle (lesser curved corners), just like how xiaomi phones usually have. "AI" and the flash are also further apart from each other, compared to the ones on itel a58. it may not be huge differences but y would xiaomi even put so much money into making a design for a budge phone that doesn't resemble those of others' (especially of a phone that far less people even know about. like i heard it the first time from u).
