The return of periscope zoom.. Lookin good.

Depending on the price, might consider upgrade to this from find x2 pro.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2023Prices for China 1) X6 - 12/256 : 4700 yuans ($682) ... moreYeah, that's the same as i saw. Same price as the Vivo x90 pro+ for the pro version. The Xiaomi 13 ultra will probably be the same as well or very similar anyway. Basically Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi flagships are now priced almost the same in China at least.

Even in China sales won't be that good. Even if the phone is top class it won't sell in sufficient numbers to justify the cost of a global release. Oppo needs more time to build their brand image before they can sell premium $1,600 phones in global markets. Xiaomi is a bit more established globally so they have a head start but the Xiaomi 13 ultra will also not sell well in global markets if released as promised by Lei Jun. If the brands believed these phones would be a success globally then of course they'd all release them as all companies have one thing in common. They want to make as much money as possible and the profit margin on premium flagships is much higher than on midrangers or budget phones

              Nick Tegrataker, 17 Mar 2023And? For example, even when you crop the image from this te... moreXperia 1iv can record 4K@24/25/30/60/120fps at 85, 87, 90, 91, 94, 98, 103, 105, 107, 112, 115, 118, 122 or 125mm.

Oppo cant. Cropping and turning 4K into FHD and keeping FHD or upscaling itt ack to 4K like many phones without a 50-60mm do, which is nasty and even shittier quality.

About the light gathering dont forget that it is not just hardware size. Photodiodes are not all equal.
There are different types with different light sensitivity levels.
Imx989 is regual dual layer. The next iphone pro to have the pixel layer and circuit layers apart , that doubles pixel area.

By the way, this watermark is wrong. Lens is 65mm but is gonna output 72mm equivalent. Digitally, no option to turn off like huasei/honor do 23mm🔄27mm.

If even sony can afford zoom lens while making bit over $3 bi/year with xperia, guess oppo can afford too while making 10x more revenue ( despite selling 40x more devices) , unless Find X is selling not even half million units .

What I care about tho: corner quality, hi res quality, speed of taking hi res hdr raw, global availability.

23mm is far too wide, you don't need a 1 inch type sensor to take decent photos in daylight, I would rather a more natural focal length at the expense of a slightly smaller sensor.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2023And at 66mm already needs to rely on digital zoom. For sti... moreAnd? For example, even when you crop the image from this telephoto camera to, let's say, 125mm equivalent, it still captures more light than the one on Xperia 1 IV per FoV. The physical aperture size of this periscope lens is actually pretty damn massive, and it has a lot of pixels to waste in case it needs to perform digital zoom. I don't really see its relatively short full-frame equivalent focal length as a problem.

Another one that doesn't go. get out of china! it seems that BBk is afraid of success

The nighttime photo from the main camera looks astonishingly decent given how dark the scene must have been, highlights are incredibly well controlled and I can even see some details captured on a tent where the focus is set to. This kind of scene would be borderline impossible for my a6000 to capture properly even if I use the brightest lens I have (30mm F1.4 Sigma) with it, unless I shoot in continuous bracketing mode on a tripod and stack multiple images together on my PC. Smartphone cameras are getting so ridiculously good these days.

I'm slightly less impressed by the telephoto sample though - It's a 2.2x digital zoom from the telephoto lens so I was expecting some degree of per-pixel quality degradation, but even then the amount of sharpening is just way too much IMO. It's got a big sensor and resolution, no need to rely on excessive edge enhancement.

Where is that 80-200mm lens? In the drawer and it will never come out, because zoom lens is way more expensive than primes.

More than Xiaomi, Samsung, Sony, Honor, literally everyone.
