Anonymous, 20 Mar 2023Still uncapable of providing dust proof rating? 😒Because of the hinge I don't think IP68 would be technically possible (they aren't sealing off the hinge, just either side of it) but in practice I'd expect IP58 (minimal dust may intrude, but won't impact the functioning of the hinge). If I'm remembering correctly, Samsung has some sort of waterproofing gel on either side of the hinge to protect the components on either side, while the hinge itself remains exposed by necessity. Consumers have come to expect an IP68 rating for flagship phones, so IP58 would look like a downgrade while IPX8 might even be perceived as an upgrade.

      😒

The render of the Z Flip 5 looks really interesting. It has two external displays. A smaller one next to the cameras similar to the first two gens of Z Flips. I'm hoping Samsung finally opens up the bigger external display to run all apps. But if it's still the same for notifications, toggles, weather widget, and music player controls, it's pointless. Samsung needs to provide gestures to exit the app like CoverScreen OS.

Not that running all apps on a 3.4" cover display is the most ideal. That's still quite small to type on and most apps are built in portrait. This is a near perfect square. That's still a bit awkward like Oppo Find N and N2. It's crazy to think that's only 0.1" smaller than the iPhone 2G through 4S but that's already too unusable to type on. And I remember thinking that first iPhone as being too big when first released. Times have changed.

Who knows? I might get the Flip 5. Will probably trade-in my 3 for it. Looks to be peak Z Flip design before it gets bigger and bigger to accommodate more screen real estate internally and externally plus bigger batteries. The Flip 5 won't be any bigger than the 4. The Flips are still the most compromised of the foldables. Yeah, it's the cheapest from Samsung. But always inferior cameras and battery life.

I know the phone's already heavy but instead of making it lighter, wouldn't it be better if it's battery capacity was increased

this could be the sign of copying oppo find n2 flip, no hate and offense though

Surprised, the hate hasn't started yet. Where are all the haters 🤣🤣🤣
