i dont think that an application centric device will have a large market size, we dont live in the application all day. plus the already available application interfaces are doing the job (some better than others).

why do we need a facebook phone ... everyone has fb already on their phones. If this is the case then google might launch a google plus phone and then linkedin would launch a phone.

It is something like Google Nexus but the phone is designed and built by Samsung or LG.
In this case, FB has chosen HTC to build for them.
Thi is really a good move! Unfortunately the spec. is one generation older.

And They selected HTC for the Hardware as well.
