Infinix All-Round Fast Charging test - 260W wired charging

Plus 110W of wireless charging for good measure.

oh damn 13amp 😮 my 120w charging is just 6amp, if looks at the cable, is looks totally the same size as the 6amp cable, surprising its can handled up to 13amp on that size

DarlingYext, 02 Apr 2023I have this exact phone, except for the 260W modification, ... moreTo quote what I said about that phone.

"Imagine paying $520 for a phone with a Dimensity 920. Horrendous. Absolutely horrendous."

It's funny because you downvoted my response to someone else's response to that comment.

Also you just said, "The 200mp main camera is kind of a gimmick".

But in the comments section of the spec sheet for that phone, when someone said to you, "Welp, so the 200MP it's clearly just to attract customers. Gimmick", you replied with, "Not at all".

Again no temperature test. Do chinese OEMs have something to hide?

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023That's 9 hours SOT for basic app usage. This isn'... moreCharging is such a small component of what the money you pay goes to, you can't expect more for your money. If it was a phone designed specifically for fast charging, then I could see being frustrated. But it's not. It's a high end pocket computer. It's not meant to have the fastest charging. Engineers make decisions with the budget and requirements they have, if you wanted super fast charging you wouldn't buy a Samsung phone. It's not Samsung's fault that you disagree with their engineers decision to prioritize battery size and longevity over charging speed.

PhoneFreak45, 02 Apr 2023I'm sorry but if 9 hours SOT isn't enough for you... moreThat's 9 hours SOT for basic app usage. This isn't about the need for fast charging, but rather the audacity to still offer 27 Watt at best for phones way into the 4 digit price range. I have an S23 Ultra, so the same battery life as the 14 Pro Max. At night quick charging isn't needed, but its great for when you need some charge for the day in a pinch. And to be clear, the 45 Watt charging on my phone isn't that fast either, but it's still enough to get 70% battery in 30 minutes and 100% in an hour, compared to barely 50% for the iPhone and two goddamn hours for a full charge. Maybe once Apple is forced to switch to USB-C they manage to be competitive again, but seeing as they apperantly try to force some proprietary crap into the new USB-C cables I don't have much hope.

M, 02 Apr 2023Yeah. As soon as phones start to charge at 200+V your argum... moreThe total power is 2.3kW on primary side (240VAC) single phase@10A Without losses, 2,3kW would be the maximum on secondary side (DC). Now, since there is losses in terms of temperature increases, the actual charge power will be less.
Maximum power draw for a normal house is 20A@3phase, which is about 14kW.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2023Agree. Never felt the need of insanely fast charging. Never... moreI have multiple, the thing is my phone usage is so varied, sometimes it's dead at 4PM sometimes it's dead at 11PM, I also have some pretty power hungry Bluetooth speakers so I pack a few powerbanks to keep them charged if needed (because yes, sometimes 6 hours at max volume isn't enough for me..)

blue, 02 Apr 2023Why should we leave better user experience just for useless... moreThe user experience also depends on the end-user, I don't enjoy One UI, no matter the android version. However I do enjoy Infinix's X OS, and even more so vivo's FunTouch and Origin OS. People are all different, that's really all this comes down to.

Ra-Iri, 02 Apr 2023Surprised to learn about the charger heating up rather than... moreBBK phones use a similar technology as well, it's not just Infinix, they purposefully make the charger in a way so it will heat up while charging instead of the phone. So assuming this same technology will apply to the 260W (and why wouldn't it) then it won't hurt the phone at all.

Also it's a bit weird from you to say that you are a bit scared of such fast charging because it reminds you of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, but then you also mentioned Samsung (and Apple) as the safest when it comes to charging. They definitely aren't, Samsung is PLAYING it safe, but slow charging will just leave more time for your phone to heat up and more time for it to stay hot, which is bad.

And well as for Apple, their game of "you should only use our original charger" move is sadly legit, most chargers not made by Apple will absolutely destroy an iPhone's battery life, most people don't know of this, don't care about it, or don't believe it. None of this is safe as it just creates problems for the end-user and more profit for Apple.

My Samsung Galaxy S8 (when it was brand new), I used it for a year and after that the battery life became way worse, it lasted 3-4 hours less than brand new and I was only charging it with the original 15W charger it came with.

But what r&d Infinix made to make these kinds of tech is such amazing, considering they are quite young in global markets.

DarlingYext, 02 Apr 2023The Note 7 only had 15W charging, it blowing up was caused ... moreI know this; what I meant on my comment is the battery literally blowing up bcs of that insane charging speed (not the charging being the cause of Note7 bursts since I followed that story of Samsung's).

Pretty sure 260w will generate a lot of heat, and it might even damage some components inside bcs of it. Just being theoretical tho.

Idk... moreThe Note 7 only had 15W charging, it blowing up was caused by a mistake that Samsung's battery supplier has made, which was that the batteries they sent to Samsung were actually a little too big for the Note 7. It had nothing to with fast charging.

Also, does the battery life degrade fast?

For some reason, this charging speeds are scary for me. Idk it might suddenly do that Samsung Note7 thing.

Not that I doubt the engineers who worked on this, but the most I'll use is the 67w. But even that leaves me scared sometimes because of the heat.

Safest imo is Samsung's and Apple's charging speeds because, why not wait for a little. Maybe do some cooking or something.
