Or... if you have a samsung devices, huawei health can be downloaded and updated on Galaxy Store. It has the latest version of huawei health as well.

It seems like many do not want to see the security issue here.
The whole point is that sideload an apk from anywhere will bypass the security offered by apps being certified by Google.
And we are talking downloading from a company many countries for security reasons will not allow to place network components in their network....
But sure it was just as bad downloading the previously available app and letting it do an insecure sideload 'upgrade' initiated within the app.

That's not new, few months ago when Honor 70 was released I got one and couldn't download Huawei health app even when I installed App Gallery.

I like Huawei health . my favorite health app . sideloading apps is not a big deal anyway . I do it almost all the time

When can we quell the myth that sideloading is inherently insecure? There are many apps on the playstore that are straight up malware, yet they're still up. Also, google play protect, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, and avast all scan apks that were sideloaded. There are actually more protections put in place for sideloaded apps. It's not inherently less secure.

The app actually pushes periodic updates for itself inside the apps as well as latest updates for the smartwatches and bands. It does have support for lastest smatch watches such as the Huawei watch buds and band 7... I don't know where you getting that information. It's Ridiculous honestly

I have Honor Band 5 and you don't need to use Huawei's app store actually. Just download the apk, tap cek for updates and the app will download the updates by itself.

I installed the apk separate without app gallery on an MIUI device and it gives notifications to update anyway.

Well buying a harmony powered device solves this problem.
Or there should be tons of simmilar apps on playstore too which will works very well.
But supporting Huawei and their usually lot better Harmony OS is best idea.
