Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023I guess you don’t like quality sound ? Wireless sounds s**tMany people like you always tell that same lie. Wired or wireless doesn't matter. What matters is tunning sound profile impedance frequency driver size and driver type and many things. Also sound source matters too. If you talk about some serious in ear monitors yes wired is better. But if you talk about cheap wired earphones you are lying yourself because they are trash. Many wireless models sound miles better than trash wired ones.

I had og Fold and with Fold 3 i just realized that i was not much using that inner bigger screen because that top screen was just so good.

I bought regular slab phone and mostly happy with it, sure that big screen was great when reading documents and ebooks but i am actually thinking buying cheap 8.7-9 inch tablet for those even though i cannot carry tablet inside my pocket everywhere.

Probably when gen 2 rollable phones come i will upgrade to those because those could have great cameras, thinner, lighter, more practical regular screen and big screen when needed and because there is one less screen those could be little bit cheaper than comparable big folding phone.

Folding phones add real value for specific people, but more regular people are likely more happy buying cheaper slab phones(or newer flagship slab phone instead of older foldable phones which are comparable in price).

Bigmeme, 30 Mar 2023No point in buying foldables until they do something about ... moreThat's why I sold my Samsung Galaxy Fold and later got an LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case. Even today, I'm still not impressed with foldable phones' long-term durability. A friend of mine already got his Z Fold3 inner screen replaced just after a year, and the screen replacement is not cheap. It costs $480 here in Malaysia.

UltraHD, 30 Mar 2023Nobody cares about headphone jack, you can find USB C to 3m... moreRemember when Sony removed the headphone jack on their 2018 and 2019 flagships, but only to see them put it back and keep it to this day since the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2? There's no getting away from the fact that wired audio gives way better stability and larger data bandwidth than wireless audio. That's why LG never remove it from their flagship phones because they know DAC audio won't work wirelessly. Even if you use external DACs or amps, it won't work with wireless headphones or earbuds.

It's the same story with file storage, but that's another story for another day.

                  Michail,

"Future" predictions by IDC, Gartner, counterpoint etc have been wrong most of the time. So don't trust these blindly.

I wonder which one will win out? Flips or folds? Clamshells are the cheapest one and perfect for someone like me who likes to pack light. Doesn't want to put a heavy phone in my pockets. But the book-style tends to have the least compromises. A far more usable cover display but it's like two slabs stacked together. Folds carry the premium price tags but they are usually premium if you want the best of the best.

Remember those resistive touch screen phone in earlier days? People were calling them gimmicks and rightly so. They reduced functionality dramatically over keypad ones but look today, it's all touch screens. Foldables have a lot to grow and mature like the touch screens, the ones available today are far far better than they were in their first iteration.

Half a year ago, Gsmarena posted an article saying that Samsung expects foldable sale to surpass Galaxy S series sale by 2025:
