Google rolls out a camera update to Pixel 6 series, improves Night Sight

Well if it good? The camera is only 1 thing what's about all other firmware's and kernels updates, Google just forgotten again?

    But after the latest updates, my Pixel 7 Pro often crashes when I take a photo with Night Sight and periscope camera.

      AnonD-731363, 08 Apr 2023Wonder why they did not inlude this when phone was released. Yes, it was a very stupid decision by them. Google already had a fast Night Sight mode in the past. It was called HDR+ enhanced. The Pixel 3 had HDR+ enhanced, but the Pixel 4 didn't have HDR+ enhanced anymore. With my Pixel 3a I nearly never used Night Sight because it takes too long and produces blurry photos. I nearly always used HDR+ enhanced instead, which was faster and produced sharper results.

      The fast Night Sight mode of the Pixel 7 Pro produces more issues than HDR+ enhanced, apparently they now use machine learning for aligning the frames and in some cases the fast Night Sight mode produces artifacts that don't occur in the normal Night Sight mode. But in most cases the fast Night Sight mode seems to work ok, whereas Google's previous Night Sight mode was nearly unusable in my opinion due to the above reasons.

        Is this update for pixel 6a too?

          I installed this update on my Pixel 6 Pro yesterday. Ok, Night Sight is significantly faster, but taking photos by periscope camera with night mode became almost impossible, because somehow this camera can't focus on subjects. And there are no problems with the same camera without Night Sight or with another cameras with this mode. Hopefully they will fix this bug with next update.
