650 usd would be considered pretty cheap here in denmark :/ Normal htc one costs the equvialent to 1000 usd

In a couple of months time nobody will even remember this stupid iPhone wannabe with its dodgy camera.
Next Xmas everyone will be laughing at the suckers who bought it, when all its competitors from Sony, Samsung, Huawei, etc. will be moved to Android 5.0, and around that time HTC starts to rollout the 4.2 update for the One.

HTC developer edition and off contract will be the same price and avail for pre-order now. I just pre-order mine.. Can't wait

If HTC wants to sell million One's...it should all be shipped with unlocked bootloaders like those Samsung's Galaxies.

I'm sure Developers over XDA will figure out how to unlock the bootloader on normal version.

I heard [seen in xda developers blog]that most of the pre-ordered HTC Ones are shipped with some manufacturing defects like some pretty worrying gaps on the corners and some even were able to remove the plates on the front side on top of the speakers. So at this point is it good to take this dev edition model? What if we want to wait for the dev's edition to be available in the market?
