I don't take selfie pictures so it's no big deal for me. My only issues are since it's the Chinese version there's no android auto, I've only gotten one update and am still on Android 12, and you can't access the camera by double pressing the power button. Google pay works perfectly though so it's not a huge deal. My reception also used to cut out about 60% of the time since it didn't support my bands but it has since dropped to about 30% with carrier updates on the play store! I knew what I was getting into. I wanted the gorgeous design of the space edition and its ceramic back with S23 Ultra style raindrop cameras so badly that I got it instead of the US version with its glass back and camera island. Well worth the 1000 dollars though it has a triple speaker setup, triple 64mp setup on the back that shoots up to 8K30 and 4K120, and 80W fast charging that gives me a full days worth of battery in 20 min!

There are plenty of other phones if people want good selfie cameras. Hell, just remove the front camera altogether, that would've been a more fitting decision for this lineup.

They got rid of the under display selfie camera because it took garbage pictures. The technology is not ready for prime time. And you cannot judge camera quality by the number of megapixels. If you don't know that then you know nothing about photography.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2023SD8+G2 is the new 8MP + 2MP, lol.8MP + 2MP is a ubiquitous mediocre auxillary camera setup used in tons of midrange phones (including mine lol).
SD8+G1 is a somewhat ubiquitous flagship, near top of the line SoC that will handle anything with ease.

ZTE has shifted their business focus from ToC to ToB, therefore these products won't be available to regular consumers and instead they're for employees of governments and corporates that have cooperations with them. Nubia Z series and Red Magic series are successors of previous ZTE's ToC Axon series.

I take it back (no pun intended) the back looks awful too. The curved corners on a rectangular frame are still clearly visible and the camera section looks like an afterthought.

Wow. So ZTE have managed to make the best looking and the ugliest looking phone this year in the space of less than 2 months. (Best being the Nubia Z50 Ultra.) What on earth is with this curved rounded corners slammed onto a rectangular body look all about? It's sending my OCD off the charts. Plus the light refractions on the edges of the promotional images??? Are they in some way saying it's a benefit....because it isn't and never will be. That screen curvature just looks awful. The whole front of the phone looks awful. The back makes up for it slightly but the specs, I'm saying no more. Just make the Z50 Ultra global for crying out loud. Axon is a dead duck for this year at least.
