Had the mi band 1 and then the 1S. Awesome bands, I could get a month or more on a single charge! I now have the Amazfit Bip S, almost 3 years, and the battery lasts 50+ days. BT is off and gimmicky features also off. I only have 2 alarms on. Can't beat this battery life, almost 2 months on a single charge. Can you imagine I've only charged my watch about 15-16 times so far?

smartband have advantage than smart watch :
        - it's light that you can't almost feel in your hand
        - battery life is 1-2 weeks so you don''t need to charge it everyday
        - it can what most smart what does for function but not all
        - price is cheap below 50 us dollar

now smart watch is having more advantage too :
it have better feature like blood pressure monitoring or bmi
        it can do call
it can play music to tws without a phone and gps so you don't need to bring your phone when your jog in the morning
you can install apps (chatgp assistant is the most worth it right now so far in wear OS)
design like premium real watch, but some designs have cheap looking

imo both have their own market share depending on the user requirement

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2023Everyone that has ever had a band and is honest with themse... moreBands are good too. Maybe limited but still good. Many useful features are available.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2023Everyone that has ever had a band and is honest with themse... moreI am very hard of hearing and I live by my Mi band 6. I'm also 60 years old and have heart problems. It was the mi band 4 that helped me understand why I woke up in the middle of the night, low heart rate. What I use it for mostly is the notifications, since I can't hear the phone, I can feel the buzz. I can see who's calling or who's sending a message and what they want. It's allowed me to leave my phone in the other room and not worry about missing a call from my wife. It's light, water resistant and a charge last 5 days, so I never take it off. I think the thing is phookin great!

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2023Everyone that has ever had a band and is honest with themse... moreWhat an asinine comment. I have a smart band, I use it to measure my sleep patterns, are you saying I should get a smartwatch just for this?
Sorry dude I wear real watches, not gimmicky electronic ones that need charging every day.
Free your mind, it's trapped in a poor way of thinking.

Nameless, 14 Apr 2023To count real steps, instead of hand movements. In theory, it may have the ability to measure the impact on your feet while running, to inform users on which surface is best suited to their goals while running.

Several pairs of wireless earbuds a wireless speaker a power bank and many more. But I don't charge them regularly. I charge them when I need.

My MiBand 4 still functioning very well and giving battery backup of approx 15 days even now. Was thinking to upgrade when its actual successors released. But this one too didn't excite me. Need to wait little more.

Many people need better reinforcement for notifications, alarm in the morning and step count. Band does those jobs just fine. You don't need a more expensive smartwatch for that. And battery lasts for ages.

gimmicky / garbage? dont think so, for its price it work nice, those SpO2, heartrate, steps, sleep tracker are good enough (for example, like in this vids compared to other dedicated devices : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDWw1nFvS5U)

it all depends on what user want, want more than basic-fitness tracking then get better one (or smartwatch), if not then xiaomi band most likely enough for them

afterall like every smartwatch noting, those are just wellness device and not medical-devices
