To add to my last comment, this handset is selling for $599 even on the HTC official website, still cheaper than that 42,990. I do not believe that everything can be blamed on "duty" and "market complexities." This is outrageous, and we users should do something about it.

What the heck is wrong with the Indian cell phone market??

42,990 could be the current annual salary of a LOT of wage earners in the lower spectrum of the society, and someone will spend that on a frickin phone. Talk about income inequality. Who says India is "developing" or "poor." RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

b1acktiger, 09 Apr 2013HTC One has better specs and almost 40% faster specs than t... moreRidiculous trolls again, Achieved not 40%, but 22% in synthetic benchmarks, if you want to troll about a product and bash it at least have evidence to prove it, the ONE isn't a soul winner anyhow, it achieves a 20% faster performance in benchmarks only against some synthetic benchmarks, which isn't a huge improvement.

Dont worry guys for all who thinks price is too high...within few months..they'll drop their prices as they will realize their decision is so wrong. At this point they should have offer the best price of their smartphone to the consumer coz already they have lost place in market..Its a tough competition htc..we have several options u know like sony xperia z and upcoming affordable galaxy s4 which is a hell alot better than urs poor one..again a big fail from HTC wen u'll learn your lessons.. :D

fair pricing for such a high quality device .
Last year the SGS3 was launched at 43k and its price decline with time and so will its.

Please dont compare Xperia Z with this device . This is a way better device than Z (which is a very good too).
The best phone availabe right now PERIOD.
S4 will launch at 44900 rs.
So people who say this is overpriced STFU.
                  http://www.anandtech.com/show/6747/htc-one-review read this .
This is probably the best device now ,i repeat .

$789 for HTC ONE with 4MP camera?????

Even the more advance device like Samsung Galaxy S4 is below $600.

Most probably HTC ONE might not sell well which has the similar fate like Butterfly.

Rs.42990??? HTC must be in a really jovial mood! 36k sounds more appropriate considering the market share of HTC n the fact that it's competing with the likes of Sony Xperia Z n the soon to arrive Samsung Galaxy S4..

HTC no doubt is a fine phone, but the battery life is too short considering the level of work the phone is expected to do. Secondly, i want to know the difference between the various HTC ones, by this i mean x,v, and the others.

43K for a mobile ? Are you kidding me ? Seriously you can buy a Bike or a car in EMI.
You can buy a HD tv , AC .
And more useful, the money you put in here will be enough for your college fee for an year.
In 1 month another phone will come out with some more new specs and the 43K will look cheap. best is to stay away.

Is 42990 the MRP? If yes than it's too expensive i would buy it for around 35-36k.
