[deleted post]You are talking about the average income. Some of the richest people in the world are from India while others are not making enough to survive. That means there must be people who are filthy rich since the average is still way above the minimum.
It's very much like China. Either there are very poor people living in remote villages or rich people living in cities. Because of the balanced GDP the rich people are in a better position than their counterparts in the western countries.

Can anybody explain why it is a big deal? Iphones have been selling like hotcakes here in India, and their service centres are plentiful as well. What makes this store any different from the ones we already have. Genuine question.
