There’s not going to be any meaningful improvement in smartwatches SOC unless ARM release a new A520 with actual performance improvements (so far the sequels to A55 have higher performance but less efficiency) or when porting the A55 to new nodes, either TSMC 4nm or Samsung 3nm. It just sounds like you don't need these features, so if anything a Mi Band would be good for you.

Nobody is touching the Snapdragon W5+ chipset are they even though it's a big leap forward for performance/battery life. Only Oppo so far. Ticwatch is taking forever for their Pro 5 watch to come out even though they said they would use the chipset last year. Stunned that watch wearable tech is moving so slowly battery life wise.

Good for the market! The timing makes me think the W5 chip is as good in the real world as on paper.
Anyways, there's the chip fab angle as well. The OS/Platform is struggling (phone app is a main component and it's getting butchered by 3rd parties), Samsung has the $ to keep going with or without wear os on top of being able to make their own chips/chipsets.

Seriously, who cares, it's a watch, make the sensors on it more reliable, who cares about performance, you have your phone for that.

I was thinking about buying samsung watches for quite some time. But the amount they charge....absurd...and we are getting what ?? Heart rate.. BP.. how many steps taken.... no practice use.. just fugazi.. better to buy a expensive stainless branded watch... the old school one

Im using watch 4 44mm and the battery is really good for standard usage... it can go for 2 days.. not upgrading to watch 5 coz the differences to small... cant wait for the watch 6

I wanted buy Galaxy Watch, but I found out accidentally, that it fully works with just Samsung phones. So I bought Garmin.
