24 April 2023
Both devices were certified with Samsung's tried and true EP-TA800 model charger.

blue, 24 Apr 2023Imagine that people don't give a f*#k about the charger.Exactly... no one is crying about the charger situation other than people on forums like this one. Everyone either has a charger already or is paying the lousy 15 USD to get a new charger. It's really not that complicated. Spend your 'hate-energy' on something more worthwhile.

Also, since foldable phones are considered as "flagship", I'm not surprised. If someone is looking for a flagship, they will mostly be looking for Apple and Samsung. This bad stigma makes it difficult for other brands to compete in the flagship class.

AnonD-546724, 24 Apr 2023Proprietary fast charging technologies always requires prop... moreBy logic yes they would need to include the new charger, but there is no law like that unfortunatelly, so if they wanted to, they could develop their own fast charging technology without including the new charger and just sell it for you separately for ridiculous prices.

However they don't need to, because they have pretty much managed to convince most of their fans that anything above 45W would just destroy their battery, and even 45W only exists, so they can be "better" than Apple, which in Samsung's mind is all they need to be, which is sadly mostly true.

25watt charging it's a joke for a phone that drains the battery like no tomorrow. My fold 3 gets charged 3 times a day

Or they can use a standard fast charging like PD and there's also no need for charger. They're not chinese, not afraid of paying royalties.

sa11oum, 24 Apr 2023Sadly you're right, a lot of Android users really only... moreThe fundamental difference between Android phones and iOS phones is that there are so much more Android phones to choose from, so a single Android manufacturer usually doesn't get away with limiting options for the users. With iOS, you just have to live with what you get, Apple has never been huge on giving the freedom of options for their users.

It's reasonable to expect that if a flagship mobile device lacks certain features, then it shouldn't cost so much OR at top price, it should have those certain features, even though you don't use it regularly so you have the CHOICE to use it at certain situations in the future, it's called contingency planning, which is only logical.

25W or anything below 150W in 2023 is really bad.
I know Samsung loves to ruin its own company but i am last to tell them.

Proprietary fast charging technologies always requires proprietary hardware, obviously a power brick but sometimes also cables.

By finally giving decent charging speeds to theirs foldables and phones in general, Samsung would be obliged to include such hardware in the box. Something they're not ready to do apparently.

and look in reality, in many countries (if not all) samsung always giving away promo with their phones purcahes

so either u getting free accessories (travel-adapter beside other accesories, usually for people that join pre-order) or you getting cashback coupon that u can use for buying samsung original accesories, which then you can use that to get charger if you choose it

so yeah its not in box, but you can get it anyway for "free" most of time (*free in this term means you dont have to pay extra money)

Cosmik, 24 Apr 2023Imagine paying 1.8k for a device and not getting a charger ... moreYeah, exactly. I didn't believe Apple when they said they they wouldn't be including chargers because they care about the environment, and I certainly don't believe Samsung and Google stopped including charges for environmental reasons, either. If they really cared about the environment, they'd stop making phones altogether.

Imagine paying 1.8k for a device and not getting a charger with it. It's for capitalist reasons, not the "environment".
