Madmallu, 26 Apr 2023I'm a vivo user and they provide me consistent updates... moreI think you should read my comment again to see what I'm talking about. I'm talking about their update quality, I have 3 vivo devices and I'll tell you about each of them one by one.
1. IQOO 3 : My first vivo device, very good, probably one of the longest running phone in my hand. But, they launched it with their IQOO UI and abandoned it right after that and never updated it to funtouch, 2 Android updates that phone got only ever increased the Android version in the settings and nothing else was ever added, they never even bothered to upgrade it to either Funtouch 11 or 12. Day 1 software and the it's final update look exactly the same, otherwise a good phone overall.
2. Vivo X70 pro+, their most premium phone of the time. Good camera at launch but lost a lot camera performance with each update and Android 13 update was the worst. Camera could not focus on object and needed 4-5 seconds of my my time to first focus on another object, then refocus on the one I want, some bugs with camera auto-switching as well. 13 also broke my fingerprint scanner, it would stop reading fingerprint after 3-4 unlocks after resetting. Service people wanted 5-6k INR to fix the problems their software caused.
3. IQOO Z6 5g : Screen refresh smart switch would make the phone stutter everytime it switches fps, was borderline unusable. It also has that lock app used to lock the phone which they removed after 1 update for no reason. It's Android 13 update fixed the smart switch problem and also bought back the lock app. But, got another update 2 days ago and now the smart switch is back to its stuttering self. And it also feels like touch responsiveness is also worse than before. Now I will have to reset it and see if it fixes anything and that's another chore.
So you tell me, will I ever buy another overpriced vivo again?

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2023mah dude its android 6 how strong cpu flagship in that era?... moreIt can run it if you want to, i got a redmi note 3 which stopped offical updates at 6. pubg was actually playable on lowest settings 30 fps. Genshin was playable when it first came out, the starting area should still be playable on lowest 15-20 fps. Light games on aethersx2 and light 2d games on skyline shouldnt have much problems either.
Point is you are wrong.

AnonD-1078988, 26 Apr 2023Will never trust Chinese with the software support. I have ... mores23+ has been using same cameras for 2-3 years, while its still one of the best in the price range, i will probably get magic 5 pro because i dont support these fake marketing of using same sensor for so long and trying to make up for it with software processing.
also samsung increases price every year even though s23 series is barely an upgrade in hardware.

Will never trust Chinese with the software support. I have so far purchased 3-4 devices all across Xiaomi, Vivo, realme and OnePlus and every single one of them have some big issues with software and updates. Bad software was tolerable before as you were getting good hardware for cheap and you could easily root and install custom roms but even that is almost dead.
Would rather pay a bit more and buy a s23+ or pay a bit less and buy iPhone 14+, almost as good hardware wise but a lot better feature and software wise. Another plus point will be that these phones will retain more of their value when selling after 2-3 years.
