The Xperia 1 IV can expose to the sun and expose to shadows as well, so can the pro I. Just like any other phones. You will get clipping if you over expose or under expose it too much but these are not lagging. I edit videos shot on my Xperia 1 and most of the time I am able to recover information in both highlights and lowlights when editing the only times I get clipping is if I severely underexposed or overexposed shots

Learn to read before asking me to. Sony is leading the way to camera sensors, and their ability of making and using up to date sensors aren't to be questioned. If the sensor can provide 4k 120 and fast readout it simply cannot be outdated cause these sensors won't be able to. And besides pixel be using the same sensors for 4 years so are they lagging too?

Reviewers know what they talk about as they review hundreds of phones every year. And all the reviews I saw praised the Xperia specially the Pro I, 1 IV and 5 IV. And you have 0 proof to back up what you are saying. Explain to me why those reviewers never ever mentioned that they are cutting cost or are lagging behind? Specially if it's 4 years lagging behind, this would meant that the Xperia 1 IV would rival the likes of the Note 10 or smth. Oh my bad the Xperia 1 series received awards such as Tippa, and iF. Am pretty sure these awards are legit

I gave you all these examples and none of those are behind. I could say that Samsung is cutting costs fro removing headphone jack and is behind Sony by 2 years because they still use 2 lens for telephoto. Then what? Just accept the fact that Sony isn't like what you are thinking. I could have been a Samsung fanboy I chose Sony because they deliver something innovative every iterations. Why else would I defend them?

Ignoring everywhere they are behind while praising the the areas they have a lead, bragging about their fancy marketing terms, or exaggerating the rest.
Fact is fact and they are behind in multiple fronts that are are essential and common place expected to be up to par. While cutting costs across the board. Yet charging more.
I can get a crapping contest about how this phone or that phone had this or that feature, is better at this, or worse than this etc etc.
None of that is the point. The only reason to bring it up or continue bringing it up over and over to the death is fan defending your favorite company.

A sensor that's never seen on any camera DSLR, mirrorless or smartphone and this new sensor is going to be a game changer. How is this cost cutting? How does giving you high speed burst with sticky reliable auto focus means cost cutting? Or how does 4K 120fps means cost cutting? Or how does true continuous zoom mean cost cuttings? Speakers are already awesome I have the Xperia 1 and it sound great ive used the note 20 as well so I know what am talking about. Battery life I just showed you how the Xperia 5 and 1 mk 4 holds up with the best battery life champs (iphone 14 pm). You know what is a cost cutting? Removing headphone jack and micro SD card and charging the same price. That is cost cutting. Sony adds new features every iterations. On every iterations they have at least 1 world first. This means they innovate. Sure better brightness would benefit me with my Xperia 1 but to be honest, the Xperia 1 IV would be more than enough for me as it has 1000nits of peak brightness in auto mode under direct sunlight. The speakers are already great too, they are detailed, loud enough, have nice instrument separation, enough bass and are well balanced. The batter lasts me 6 to 7 hours on my Xperia 1 and 4 if I use to record 4K HDR movies with it at full brightness. So now explain to me where did they cut cost? And to make it clear 12 megapixels camera doesn't mean lagging tech. Samsung 108 megapixels or 200 megapixels is a gimmick as it looks way too sharpened. Megapixels isn't the only deciding factor when it comes to camera. Not does brightness when it comes to display nor does loudness when it comes to speakers. Oh and did I mention that Sony also gives you the ability to record music with the mic? You can even send it for cloud processing and it sounds amazing. There are music that were produced using only the Xperia 1 or 5 IV as a mic. This just goes to show you that Xperia phones are capable.

That they cut costs in hardware, software, availability, marketing and still want to charge more than anyone else.
I wish they made a more capable device and actually released it with more carriers.

Their autofocus is also among the best in the business right now, they are using the same one from their alpha cameras. They have eye auto focus which works great on my Xperia 1 and this is better than simple object af
