    We're not talking "most phones", we're talking about a Tecno phone here. They price their phones through the roof. The Camon 19 Pro was overpriced at over $200 and you know manufacturers never lower prices. The 20 Pro will be no cheaper.

Yeah just noticed that G99 is just 4G version of D810 that has 200MHz slower clockspeed on Cortex-A76. In terms of AnTuTu scores the difference isn't that significant either, with the D810 only 20,000 higher than the G99.
      And for the price, what pricing are we even talking about? As far as I know most phones with G99 (I won't mention Oppo & Vivo since their pricing are just ridicolous here) is cheaper than D810, at least in my country.

                It is strange that Tecno Camon 20 Pro 4G not announced here ,but it is sold in Lebanon and distributed officially by the main Disti STC in Lebanon 2 days ago !!!
                model number is Ck8n and Cpu G99 8 Gb Ram +8 add .. 128 GB Rom ... 2 main Cams 64 +50 ,5000 mA Battery 6.7 Amoled 120Hz screen !!!??!!
                Anyone to explain if this is original or ???!!!!

                    Just keep in mind that most people might not (and possibly don't) have access to higher tier devices, for many reasons that's beyond money.

                      Considering more than half of this world doesn't even experienced 5G yet, I think maybe it's better to give 4G chipset so company might can upgrade another hardware feature that might important.

                        However you should remember that not everyone is living in US, which has good 5G coverage. Most of them are living in Asia, Europe, and Africa, which... let's be honest, has a bad 5G coverage. Even as someone who live in the capital city of my country, I still don't get 5G until now. Well yes it's better to get D810 if you plan to use your phone about 3-4 years from now. But if you change your phone every year, G99 isn't that bad, considering both has the same performance. (Maybe D810 will has worse battery life if you really use that 5G feature since 5G consumes more battery.)

It's not obsolete in that scenario. But in any phone $150 and up, it is completely obsolete, and the 20 Pro will be well over $200. I mean look at the $165 Realme 10s, it's got a faster Dimensity 810. So why on Earth would you get the 20 Pro?

                                        The Tecno Camon 20, especially the baseline one, was made for, you guessed it, Novice Android Users or People on a tight budget, as I said, not everyone is gonna adore a new Snapdragon 8/Dimensity 9XXX Series CPU.

                                        By The Way, The Helio G99 isn't obsolete, the person who said that is probably just spoiled.

                                        all of this is coming from an S22 Owner who also had experience with low-end devices back then
                                        (Like the Alcatel U5 or A50/A51).
