Many people keep commenting that Motorola is falling, but its cheap mid to low-end phones like these that sell well to the masses. Who cares about the wifi and techno stuff when this phone appeals to another sort of crowd? Din they mention they were targeting ladies who go to clubbing joints? How about a lady hanging a huge PDA phone over her neck while she clubs? LOL. Some people just dun get it. The idea of this phone is to sell it as a Fashion accessory and it will sell well to its target audience. It was never meant to replace ur so-called techy or geeky gadgets in your daily lives so Relax and stop the dissing.

I think those tech geeks should take a look at Sony Ericsson first with all their might and technology, now they are slipping badly and not doing so well. Why dun these people who love to diss Motorola start buying more from Sony Ericsson to save the company?

People can diss all they want, but the point is Motorola actually improved on its sales figures during Q2 selling phones like these and it looks set to retain its title as the World no. 3 maker for Q3. =)

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2008Frankly, it's beautiful. My gf gonna love this, she's the b... moreSad for the fact Moto was one of the first to release 3G phones, especially with video call capability. Wouldn't u luv to c yr gf face everyday? I did...and do with my wife!

Just Moto is so silly to be stuck with making Linux standard on its 3G phones, but currently Linux doesn't work with 3G.

I'm a silly phone user who doesn't care if a phone is "smart" or not. Rather, I prefer simple opersation with key functions like video-call in a good design.

Those who says the phone is ugly here are likenly NOT the targeted customers of this phone anyway.

Though currently I've an U9 and I don't see much reason to purchase this new Jewel...

Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the best supporter of Moto, as I've used over 40 Moto handsets in the past 14+ years and no other brand...currently I carry 8 Moto phones with me most of the time!

Everyone knows moto is struggling with the cell phone department...well when you keep releasing butt ugly phones with no functions (wifi, decent camera, etc) what do you expect? Who would buy something like this? Moto, either come up with something good or just sell the department and STOP EMBARRASSING YOURSELF.

Frankly, it's beautiful. My gf gonna love this, she's the biggest Motofan. Unfortunately, it's only a 2G. C'mon Moto, it's a 3G era (sson will be 4G), how come you stuck in 2G era.... oh well, because you are an american company... *kidding*

Is rather unfortunate Moto actually pioneered the use of some great technology where people simply take it for granted or forget...

Who started to use mini-USB plug, if not charging? I think there are still some phones out there using mini-USB plug that does "not" support charging capability

Who started the use of micro-SD card? Was someone still struggling with RSMMC when Moto started to use micro-SD on its E398/V635?

Every other mobile phone must have copied, either in hardware or software design, from Moto.

And this place doesn't seem to give the least decent respect to the company who actually changed many people's lives around the world....by not having a single review on its phone for months (if not years)

These days, everybody is a comedian...

"the design team has done its job in copying the HTC Diamond design, it's time for the engineers to gather up and finalize the specs sheet. Let us help you out, guys! You don't need to be that inventive, just copy the Motorola U9 specs."

                  oink oink...

I don't see these kind of comments on nokia mobiles... or sony ericsson... or samsung... or... apple??? Do you want me to say other brands or was it enough???

Keep up to the news but save the jokes for yourselfs, at least if you can't pull a decent one...

The answer certainly is NOT from the almighty brand, or the brand which captures all the background noise as possible with poor quality joy stick...

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2008Hahaha... We wait for 2 steps the dying of Sony Ericsson. L... morefinnaly! its hard to find someone who can see things as you said but that is the real point of things, everybody copys motorola but that doesn't really matters... I think that most of the people here don't understand what is a medium-low segment so they ask for a low price and huge built in functionality... You know, in my country you can buy a u9 for 99 euros, I ask - there is a better phone for that price on the market??? And I answer - No! Touch screen, music, camera, great linux motomagix software and so on... You just can't get nothing better for such a low price! And I must say that I'm very disappointed with gsmarena, it was the only website that I had as fair and not partial but now, I can see that I was wrong, so the slim htcs never copied motorola right? Of course, of course, you are so good and know so much, right? Cynics!

And you know what? I'll probably buy 2 or 3, one for me and others to offer, I like it so I'll have it, oh and yeah, I'm a guy

Motorola has been falling from the top with all that technology coming... I think they don't have much to do unless selling the company to a bigger one.
