Today, people use them for social media, internet, and everything else in between. The action of having to unflip your phone just to respond to a WhatsApp message is annoying. The Flip is a form factor of a previous era. It’s no longer relevant today for typical smartphone use. The Fold makes more sense thanks to the outer screen fully usable as a regular smartphone.

It is a shame because it is a really expensive phone and it doesn't even has a charger in the package.
And the battery is small!!

The main problem with the flip is the battery size. It renders the phone basically a toy. I have the flip 4 and it sits on a desk whilest i use my s23+ or my s22+. The battery is just not there. 4300 should be a rule of thumb with anything 6.6 screen size or bigger regardless of processor.

I've used 2 different Flips and it fits my usage pattern very well. The perfect Flip user is the opposite of a power smartphone user. I tuck it away and forget it even exists when I'm not using it.
Also Samsung ran very aggressive launch discounts or I wouldn't have picked one up.

Nikojas, 02 May 2023I live in a large city and I’ve only ever seen 2 people usi... moreImo the Flip will be a flop. The sales seem high because it's simoly the cheapest foldable from Samsung, but the utility is very poor. People I saw with the Flip end up keeping it open all the time to get to their notifications and apps quickly. Having to unflip the phone every time is annoying.
Meanwhile, the Fold is very useful as even when folded, the outer screen functions as a regular phone screen.

AnonD-731363, 02 May 2023Dont want to be rude but as long as main screen durability ... moreAgree. However, it doesn't diminish the utility of the larger screen, which is what most people using the Fold are after. It's akin to have those mini notepad book in your pocket, but it's a smartphone. I think on most pre orders, Samsung offers extra warranty or replacements for the screen, so most people should be covered.

K , 03 May 2023Here everyone seems to have every generation of fold, but i... moreI've seen Z folds in the public and I barely pay attention to the phones people use. Sometime in the last two weeks, I saw someone with a book fold and it clearly wasn't the Z.
The flip outsells the fold by double to triple digits. Yet, I've only seen two flips in the public since it was introduced. The first was my coworker. The second was someone walking down 50th street. That was on Friday.
Just because you don't see them doesn't mean people don't have them.

Was so badly wanting to buy one and eagerly waiting on the 5 to come out BUT BUT!
The cameras on the 4 are utterly lackluster and with 0, NILL, NADA, ZILCH changes on that front, I'm still not going to pick one up. It BADLY needs similar range of cameras as the Ultra series or Samsung wants the Fold series to be portrayed as inferior to the Note?
Somebody please for heavens sakes fire T.M.Roh!!

Dont want to be rude but as long as main screen durability is close to zero and endorance rating is bad as with any foldable or flipable phone since first Z flip and Fold any of theses phones are tottaly useless regardless of the brand.
Paying 1000 plus for a midranger with flagship CPU and GPU and durability worse than 100eur budget devices is just big no. ňAnd repair of said screen is 700 plus. Really bad.
